6yr old found safe and hiding in a box in the attic.  That's good news.  He wasn't in the balloon.

Bizarre story.  The latest I've heard is that the parents were so obviously shaken that no hoax by them is suspected.  Seems to be a bunch of little kids with a tenuous grasp of reality vs. fantasy, then too scared to tell the truth.

(I'll confess that at that age my brothers and I might have launched my little sister in a balloon if we had the opportunity!   Oldest brother and I did convince middle brother to climb into a canvas bag suspended from a tree by a rope - it was great fun hearing him scream as we swung the bag, until the rope broke and he broke his leg. )

Well, you do realize this family was part of "Wife Swap" at one time?!
