I passed out on the couch with food surrounding me.  My wife bitched them out and then came in and yelled at me for not taking care of it.  Pretty comical all in all.  Now she feels bad for yelling at them and wants me to apologize for my crazy wife.  I told her to do it herself.

Malkin still has a strange look about her.  But I do like this fake pic or her that floated around:

JT could be off by a few days, but right about now Reggie was hitting three jacks to end it all against the Dodgers in 1977.  At least there are half innings to warm up.  A weak El Nino is supposed to be to blame.  JT is used to hitting dudes in football gear when its this cold, not a baseball.

JT's nephew a 12 yr old goes tomorrow in football.  His coaches offer little in technique instruction.  Nephew has been having trouble against bigger kids.  1st year of football for the nephew. Great baseball player, might not be nasty enough for football.  Nephew plays guard and DE. Not fast but very quick.  JT schooled him on some advanced techniques on both sides of the ball.  Nephew now knows some real sh*t.

At 12 years old, coaches were at a minimum teaching the swim technique to JT.  Nephew will probably concentrate on baseball after this, but JT would like him to go out in style.

JT --- SF goes to watch his 10 year old nephew play football.  The nephews team has a couple really good coaches, who relate to the kids.  Most teams  who they play don't have coaches like this and play awful football (even by 10-11 year old standards).   SF thinks the nephew is lucky because his coaches can relate to the players... its not so much the X's and O's at that level, its schooling the "Jimmys and Joes".

JT didn't see the game, but JT's Dad went and nephew reported after the game.  Big improvement Sunday.

Handled a bigger kid... worked a swim for sack, spin move for a few tackles, and couple of combo moves for a few other tackles.  The biggest thing was teaching him how to get leverage and hands on the o lineman, before the o lineman got to him.

The coaches run a lot of traps, but apparently don't teach the line good pulling technique.  Nephew was trap blocking much better yesterday.  Footwork was better.  No sacks.  He was giving a sack per game.

And taught him how to hold and not get caught. Or as JT calls it, a loose jersey is your friend.

Made it to Selinsgrove.  Weather wasn't too bad.  Could have been worse.  Game was a bit sloppy but the Crusaders scrapped and while RPI did answer several times they couldn't make any number of key stops to get themselves back in the game.

Number of 4th and 5/6/7 yard downs that killed RPI.  Similar to Roch the D couldn't get themselves off the field.  Paveltz is tough and he keeps his feet moving.  He runs through arm tackles.  Last year they held him in check.  No such luck this game.  He played very hard.

Please don't file this under "excuses" ... Susq earned the win.... they executed more cleanly and played very physical but the several of the defensive players were on fumes due to a bug and they missed a few key players.

Look for a big response next week vs. St Lawrence.  Seasons not over.  Plenty to play for.
