'We'll be there big boy!'

Mr. Phillips, would you hit that?
Steve Phillips: Yes, I would hit that, and that, and that, and that.

U89 thinks that's CC Sabathia, second from the right in the red.

Who are the Yanks playing again in the World Series??

GO PHILS!!!!!

or whoever the heck is playing the Evil Empire.

Ahhh, looks like your inner Conrad Dobler had to come out, U89. Although I question the timing of your shot, turning against a fellow Dutchman during Shoes week and all. But that's OK, we're friends, I guess it just took you a while to get over the gut punch that Papelbon delivered when he gacked up the lead vs. the Angels. That was gift enough for me this year, the Yankees winning the World Series would just be icing on the cake. I guess you guys couldn't win without the cheaters after all. Maybe Bellicheck could give Francona some cheating tips. B*tch.

Go back to Waccabuc, Nebraska and root for your damn Yankees.

Does no one want to trade U89 a tight end for LenDale White in LLPPFFL??

Associated Press: Troy N.Y. October 28, 2009...Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a small engineering college in upstate New York announced that it has changed it's name to The Mike Hermann Institute. Since the beginning of the 2009 football season Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (known as RPI) has struggled with so-called "weaker" opponents and even went as far as losing their homecoming game, which consequently was taking place on the day they officially opened their new multi-million dollar athletic facility that seats 5,000 plus spectators. The 6 fans that attended the game were so disappointed they immediately petitioned for a change within the program. Well the change was made. The board and the ****ing over paid president decided that since the team is so ****in poor and fields only one competitive player (a freshamn QB) they might as well rename the school after him. Starting on Halloween Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will now be known as The Mike Hermann Institute or staying true to RPI's abbreviation, TMHI. These letters are replacing the RPI currently printed on the football turf at the school.

You guys must feel like the biggest pussies when all you can do is call U89 and me, Bellicheck and the Patriots 'cheaters'.  That's like what I called my older brother when he beat me in whiffle ball when I was 6.  Seriously, does it hurt when that is all you got?

It does look like the Yankees did buy the right players this year.  Thats one expensive trophy if they don't choke.

I havent watched any baseball since the sox lost, but I will be pulling hard for Pedro.  He is the man.

dlip finds it ****ing hilarious when fans of other teams, especially the Sox, bitch about payroll **** and buying ****ing players. Can anyone name a team that has not bought any of it's players? ****ing of course not. **** the Sox paid millions just to sit down with Dick-K and look at his "piece." The ****ing hypocrisy is great and dlip loves it. He is a die hard Yanks fan but a rare one whose favorite player (Pedroia) plays for the Sox. dlip is sure Pedroia plays for free as a good will jesture to the purity of the game and his (and all other major leaguers) pure feelings that the Yanks are the only evil ones in the game. Please, the name of the game is $ and all the ****ing teams play in one way or the other. Yet with 26 world championships and maybe a 27th on the horizen the Yanks just happen to do it better mother****ers.

see your point but do the pittsburgh pirates have the same amount of money as the yankmes? pbr didnt realize mlb was like the nfl and all owners got equal shares  of money from tv and licenses....of course you do it better when you can sign 5 players to the pirates 1...or pick many of the other small market franchises....they have become the development teams for the spankees...

Capitalism can be a bitch pbr. If the Pirates suddenly came into billions and billions of $'s they could sign Jesus to play short stop. Honestly dlip wishes that all teams had similar amounts of $ but that is just not how America works. Does it suck for the Pirates? **** yes! dlip's main point is that any team, in the Yanks poisition would do the same exact ****ing thing the Yanks do. Actually most would probably do it smarter  ;).

MP can't keep himself out of this:

Would anyone argue that:

1) The Yankees should spend less money than they have in the interest of being "fair" to other teams.

2) Other teams would not spend as much money if they had it.

3) 99.9% of baseball players would not take more money if they could?

MP is a Yankee fan that supports a salary cap. You're right. We need it. The Yankees have an unfair advantage.

But Steinbrenner wants to win. He has operated the Yankees at a loss in many years previously to try and get that win. He is the most dedicated owner maybe in sports. What team wouldn't want an owner like him?

Some people think I shouldn't be a Yankee fan because they are despicable in that they spend so much more money than any other team.

Better to support them, who I have my whole life, than the Pirates whose owners have operated their team at a profit for all of their losing seasons. 75 wins is the best way to turn a profit. That's not what the Yankees are after.

Go Jeter.
Go Clutch-Rod.
Go Yankees.

Those of you who say what the Yankees do is wrong, tell me: What would be right?

(PS I know their stadium deal was f_____ up. They could have not done that.)

Oooh, so close to being right until you wandered off into the land you know nothing about.

Never lost money.  The team technically operated at a loss in some seasons when the ownership took out some money or redirected revenues to other entities owned by Steinbrenner but not the Yankees.

Don't know about him being dedicated.  Come visist, I'll introduce you to his shell.  I see him at least once a month around town slobbering on himself.  It is kind of sad.

Fair enough. Still don't know what people expect... them to donate money to other teams out of the goodness of their hearts or something.

What is the NFL owners model, and how does the salary cap not make that example useless?

They dont really do anything better anymore.  Sure, drafting Jeter and picking up mid-level free agents in the 1990s was smart and Ill give the Yanks some credit for that, but its real different now. Do you think they were the only team that thought CC Sabathia and Mark Teixiera were good?  Gee, only 320 ****ing million dollars between 2 human beings!

You can't blame the Yankees or Players for paying or accepting these salaries, but lets face reality here, MLB is not on the level.

It must be real fun being a Cleveland Indians fan.  Great job by that orgainzition huh?  Two starting pitchers tonight are former Cy Young award winners for the two WS teams!?!  Why did they let them go?

And its teams like cleveland that are the problem.  The problem is, no one cares about those teams.  10 teams can buy players, and 1 of those 10 can really buy players.  Hey, don't feel bad for me or the red sox, they are on the money train too, but they aren't allowed in the luxury bar car where the Yankees own all the seats.

The sox would have loved to have bought Texiera.  Why didn't they?  Yankees would have won the bidding war thats why.  the sox have money, but not that much money.  The sox and 7 other teams can afford to buy 2-3 all star salaries on their rosters and then have to finagle and do good scouting to get the rest.  The Yankees can afford to buy 6-7 all star players and then cut 2-3 that dont work out (and still pay them).
