Wow, how come no mention of the catfight on the E8 board? I could have used that distraction during another mindless 3 hour meeting.

Stay strong, DC, I like your ATE columns. As well as despise mindless, gratuitous whining about 2 sentences.

I'm sure all ATR writers have their detractors.  JT certainly did. But that is the essence of a columnist, verses a reporter.  JT used constructive criticism to improve, as does DC.

I'm starting to feel responsible for bringing those clowns out of their shells a week or two ago.  After reading it all, I'm wondering if its the same guy, or their just giving a circular elephant line to each other.
Yeah, Dew, I said my bit about the column earlier and I have no doubt it was in part a lack of love that my own school has gotten over the years.  Since then, though, I think you've done a great job changing it up and spreading it around.  In fact, the last few weeks it's been better than the NJAC version.  I should note there's been a couple of factual errors on the Hobart/WPI game, but it doesn't matter too much since that game held little significance (other than that Hobart might be starting to figure it out on O and could finish on a four game winning streak, IMO).

One of those dudes is over there just to ruffle feathers.  He brings absolutely NOTHING to any football discussion.  The other guy...well, just read his posts.  None of them make sense.  He's obviously a moron, and probably slammed his head against a few too many lockers.

With that said and done, I am off to a local HS game.  2 teams from this city, last game of the year, playing for the league title.  Expected 10-15,000.  Should be pretty crazy.  It's in a tough area so i'll surely get wanded walking in and hopefully won't get shot walking out.  Wish me luck...

Sometime's the wand isn't a bad thing. Off to a HS game as well, just a normal league matchup, 8,500 expected. Man, everytime I go to a HS game in the south, I can't help but think I grew up in the wrong area for HS football. These kids are rock stars.

Terd, dlip hopes we coo after yesterdays exchange, after reading E8 board he realizes petty stupid **** on here is just a waste of time, especially with a fellow brethren on the LLPP.

dlip's big game predictions:

Springfield: 38
SJF: 27

Bart: 21
RPI: 17

Del Val: 34
Albright: 21

Alfred: 28
IC: 24

Rowan: 31
Montclair St: 27

Just some thoughts, also dlip feels Suscrotch will take WPI to meet Union for the LL title next weekend here in SHocktown. *By the way grove no disrespect to Susquehanna with the Suscrotch comment, just thought it looked funny. They have cleary earned some LL respect this season.

Yeah, I've definitely made a couple of screw-ups factually (I know I said one of the games was 38-28 and it was actually 31-21, or something similar.) I try to limit those as much as possible and have had Pat edit my ATE a couple times if I've made those errors.
Also, I like have leads about all the different schools, because it gives me the chance to talk to lots of different coaches and players and schools. Unfortunately, I may not ever get the chance to see DVC or LVC or Albright live, just based on the fact that I'm based in eastern NY. Sometimes Union and RPI get more coverage than they should, but I'm a lot closer to them then I am to Hobart or St. Lawrence or Susquehanna.
But ATE affords me the opportunity to talk to Steve Briggs at Susquehanna or Jim Monos or John Marzka at Albright or Jim Clements at DVC and I've had some really good interviews with those fine coaches.
I'm rambling, but thanks for the constructive criticism. It makes me a better writer at the end of the day. Those two clowns got on me for two sentences and an interpretation in a 2,700-word column. It annoyed me, but I'm over it.

Dallas. Live in a suburb with doctors, lawyers, etc., thought they would be indifferent, that it was just Friday Night Lights type of towns that went crazy over football. Nope, it's pretty much every town in Texas. Parents fawning over 16 year old boys, praying their daughter will be cheerleaders or Belles, hoping they can date one of the football players, the stories I hear about what Matthew Stafford got away with in this town (makes Urban Myer seem like a hardass), DAMN, I missed out!

Today dlip is hoping for one thing from the Union Dutchmen, victory. He is not going to get a ****in ulcer  and get frustrated worrying about points scored or the margin of victory that he feels this Union team should come away with. He has learned to accept the U for exactly what type of team they are, a team loaded with talent who is still trying to find consistency and play all four quarters of a football game. Let's go Union!
