That is interesting PBR.

And thats what I was thinking about this past Patriots game.

In my own mind (with no stats to back it up), the Colts had a 80% chance of scoring a TD when the Pats failed to convert at the 30.  If the Pats punted, in my own mind the Colts had a 50% chance of scoring?

And what was the chances the Patriots could get 2 yards on that 4th down?  50%?  75%?

Makes ya think.

This guy's article is pretty good if you like percentages.

Make MUC play with the quarterback from this game:

It wouldn't matter...they would still beat everyone by at least 3 scores...

I think DVC is probably the only team that can keep it under 4 TDs.  I wouldn't be shocked at that.

exactly... they definitely have MUC's respect.  Some are keeping an eye on them as the Quarterfinals opponent.

if they get that far they will shock the world baby!!!! in reality would be interesting to see how well they do....they have played iona (div I-AA) that last couple of years and wesley and salisbury as well so they definetly wont be intimadated. obviously muc would be a heavy favorite but there is a reason they play the games....

Iona dropped football recently and was a poor I-AA program. I wouldn't count a game against them as anything special.

'gro

Gro's $FFL team, currently sitting in 1st place at 8-2 unlike my LLPP team, mourns the loss of Ronnie Brown (IR) and Dwayne Bowe (drugs, man) in the same week. While Bowe was more of a backup, Mr. Brown will be sorely missed. Gro asked Tim Tebow to travel to South Beach and lay his hands upon Ronnies tender foot, but was rebuked. All I could do was send the Dolphin's trainer a bottle of Bacardi, a container of KFC's 11 herbs and spices, and a replica of Jobu from Major League... they were too quick to put him on IR.

That's exactly it.  I was thinking the same thing.  He actually had some real numbers to back it up (for NFL averages anyway).  Even without exact numbers, the percentages would work out in the Pats favor by going for it on 4th down.  Too many people think about the odds that the colts had by getting the ball on the Pats 30 or their own 30.  They don't figure in the chances of the Pats converting it on 4th down.

Still a ballsy call.

DC, great article as always, nice way to close the 09 ATE's. Nice predictions, however dlip would love to see the Crusaders give Del Val all they can handle but he honestly doesn't think they will make much noise against the East's best team. Yes dlip is saying Del Val is the East's best team. As he says that he keeps hearing ****in Wesley Wesley Wesley in the background reminding dlip how the East is just not there as of now.

dlip --- don't sell Delaware Valley short... they are probably physical enough to give Mount Union a run in the Quarters.  Whether or not they can finish that game is another story ---

dlip hears ya SF, and believe him he would LOVE to see Del Val make some noise. He believes Del Val is a very good team, the best the East has to offer. Yet to dlip IHO they won't be able to hang against the likes of MUC. Again, dlip would love to be dead wrong here. By the way SF good luck to the TM Saints!

totally disagree...yes they werent very good for a dI-AA program against the likes of richmond, delaware, etc...but they were plenty of team for any dII or d3 school. point being the size and speed of muc will not intimadate dvc as they have faced many schools that have size and speed.

I think John's Right.  They played Montclair Several times this decade and Montclair won most of those meetings.  I think they'd be an Average D3 team as well.

In its final decade of football, Iona was 5-6 against Division III schools.

Thanks, dlip.  The entire Thomas More community is hoping we get 3 wins and a trip to MUC to see how the program stacks up.  That would be fun because SF would get to see some of his MUC buddies (they are very hospitable up in Alliance) and talk some football with hscoach.
