Looking at joining a Liberty League team next season:

"iamhuge"?

try this:  "U R Gay."

So you're looking at joining an LL team next season, the same way you posted to the NESCAC "Very strong possibility he will be in the NESCAC this next season:"  on Nov 25,  or "He wants to go NESCAC" to the Baseball board on Aug 9, or "Yes?   No??" to the Little East Conference baseball board on Aug 9.  Or trying to make it look like you're participating in a discussion on the E8 board, but it was really little more than a ploy to post your highlight video.

My favorite post by you is simply "Is this huge?"

Yes, you are huge...

a huge tool.

I was going to have mercy on you because you are just a dumb high school kid, but The Rev has to keep it real.  -K

Next time try to get a picture of you on Hot Chicks with Douchebags, a more appropriate forum for your self-aggrandizement.

C'mon Rev, don't hold back ... tell us how you really feel.
+k for a good laugh.

I won't be going to Hobart I guess.

Why would you go to Hobart when you obviously think you are good enough to go to Florida or Michigan state on different school web forums...

Trevor (Trevor's dad?),

The thing that galled me was the fake objective third party--as if someone out there had seen your video and was truly impressed enough to show us.

Had you simply said, "Hey guys, I'm a [or my son is a] high school player looking to play at some D3 schools.  Here's a highlights video from You Tube.  What do you think?"  you would have received positive responses.  Instead, look at your karma: 11 posts, -11 K.  That says something big about the way you approach people.

One of the greatest attributes a person can have is humility.  If you are a truly great athlete, you will be noticed and rewarded for it.  If you are not a truly great athlete, telling people that you are will get you nothing but scorn.  If I were you, I would go back and edit the written material on "Grid Iron Studs" to be less sensational and instead let your highlight film speak for itself.  As it is, if The Rev were a scout or coach he would not take you--not because of your talent--but because of your apparent attitude.

This is an interesting scenario.  I had asked Pat last night whether there was an NCAA rule prohibiting the public solicitation of athletics programs in the style this kid did it the other day (simply because I had never witnessed someone coming at it from this angle or in this way before).  Pat said he knew of no rule, so I trust he's right.

However... after reading that Spartans board, if this is the player himself pimping himself out the way he's doing it, it would be an eligibility violation in my view.  Specifically, he's apparently lying about interest from other schools in a public forum to induce schools to take a look at him.  This can't be appropriate under NCAA guidelines -- at the very least, it shows a level of questionable character, even from a 17-year-old athlete.  My best advice to this kid is to stop doing what he's doing because the paper trail is way too long right now about the extent to which he's willing to go to get schools interested in him.  I think he has a good chance at a number of schools out there -- Division III only, however.  He's being treated as a lone setback with that size, but he's the size of a college fullback.  He's not experienced at fullback, so only a Division III team would take a chance at teaching him the position for a year and then letting him play.  His 40m speed is fugly, so there's no way he could be considered for tailback purposes, and tight end would be a stretch.

Remember, iamhuge, you need to always establish some safety schools before attempting to go over your head and find "reach" schools, be it for academic OR athletic purposes.  Good luck and keep off message boards -- you're hurting your cause more than helping it.

Couldn't agree more with both the Rev and Frank.  The avenues taken to get your (or his) name out just don't seem to be the right ones...

Thank you for your concern.

Broadcasting Miss. College/Wesley tomorrow with Keith McMillan.  Here are some details for those interested in the game:

Today's Second Round NCAA Division III Football Championship Playoff game between Mississippi College and Wesley will be carried by D3football.com through Ustream.tv starting at 11:50am EST (10:50am CST).

This is D3football.com's first audio broadcast using Ustream, and it provides many exciting opportunities.  First, listeners can interact through the chatroom provided next to the scoreboard screen we will update throughout the game with our game's score and quarter.  Keith McMillan and I will attempt to monitor the chatroom for any questions or comments.

In addition, since the game is a "Featured Broadcast" on Ustream, you can listen to the game and interact through your iPhone by downloading the FREE Ustream viewer in the iPhone App Store.  Search "Ustream" for the App -- installation is easy.  Then search "Wesley" or "D3sports" for the broadcast once we go live.

Enjoy the game, and best of luck to all the players, their families and their fans!

It's rumored that at least 1% of posts may have been related to Liberty League football.

I think that's a bit high...

Unless you count posts that include the phrase "Union Sucks" in it...

Then maybe it could be 1%...

dlippiel

dlip wants to wish Montclair St good luck today. Please note the "lack of respect" you are receiving regarding D3 predictions and take those to heart. Not much of anyone gives you guys a shot in ****in hell today. Stand up for the East Region, give your best, and prove everyone wrong. Good luck and congrats on this great opportunity to play the best!

Logged on.  Sounds good but chat requires you to sign up / log in etc which is too annoying for TGP at this point.  "Break a leg" and anything will be an improvement from that gal's rendition of the national anthem.

SaintsFan,
Just listened to your telecast of the Hopkins/Thomas More game.....very well done.  I enjoyed your coverage.  Very tough way for your Saints to be eliminated on the FG at time expired.

Congrats on a fantastic season.
