Why would Union want bad athletes from such a lousy football state?

Because YOU ARE HUGE, Man.  HUGE!!!  Union likes their benchwarmers to be big guys in order to keep the benches warmer for the guys that will actually see the field -- bigger butt surface area accomplishes that.

I'm so confused here.  Is this the kid, the dad, someone who doesn't like the kid posting this sh!t?  I'm so confused.  It's completely ridiculous.  If you are the Dad or the kid himself, just shut the **** up and let the coaches do their job and recruit you.  Your highlight film may have been interesting to SOME team, SOMEWHERE, but it doesn't light any fires when you come on here touting it like it's supposed to be something amazing.  It looks like a 12th grader playing 2-hand touch with a bunch of 8th graders.  I'm sure Willy P needs a left guard, why don't you just stay down in Jerzzzz.

Terd... Rare day when we're in agreement lately.  Must be the holidays.  Merry Christmas to you, and Happy Festivus to iamhuge.

Good analysis...what would you say if he wears a Union jersey this fall?

would say start eating 5-6 full meals a day(put on 30 lbs) and how good are you at stopping the run at d-tackle? if not your our new blocking tight end....

I agree with the DT/ Nose Guard/ O Guard or blocking TE assessment. I disagree with the start eating 5-6 meals a day, I think he's got that covered. If he puts on 30 pounds he would be 275 lbs at 5'11", he'd be officially round. And at 5'11" he looked huge on the video's, which again makes me wonder just how small the other kids were.

Listen, I'm having fun with this kid, but I'm assuming that iamhuge is in fact not Trevor, or else he has a massive appetite for taking dlip. If iamhuge is in fact Trevor, then I wouldn't want him on my team just for being a Dlipbag. If not, then I wouldn't mind having him on my team, I actually like that the kid never seems to quit, stayed on blocks all the way down field and until the whistle, and never gave up on defense. But I would have to see some game films with him playing TE/ NG/DT rather than a highlight reel to get a better feel.

Apparently, the identity of iamhuge has been figured out by someone on a Florida Gators bulletin board.  I may pay a phone call to Trevor's dad to find out if the family knows the son is being exploited like this:

I've got a different take on this whole Iamhuge issue. How lucky is this kid? How many other places in the country would somebody that slow (lumbering was being generous, I'm not sure I've seen slower feet), be a running back? And not even a fullback or in a two back set, but in a one back set? Seriously, where else in America? Northern Maine? Alaska? Northern Westchester NY football was no football hotbed, trust me, but that kid wouldn't have been able to touch a ball after 4th grade Pop Warner. Instead, this kid played, what, 7 positions? What in the dlip is going on here! I'm now pissed that they didn't put him in at QB also.

And, to not only be lucky enough to find himself on a team with no talent, but to then be lucky enough to play against the worst tacklers of all time? And his team made the playoffs! I watched my share of NJ HS football in my time, but estimation of NJ football has gone down for sure, and part of me is still not convinced this isn't an elaborate hoax, because none of this makes any sense.

So I'm happy for this kid, DB as he may be, and a bit jealous and bitter. Hell, I'm now wondering that if I went to Colby instead of Union, if I couldn't have played RB in college, THAT'S how messed up this video was to me, and has me thinking crazy thoughts.

Good analysis...what would you say if he wears a Union jersey this fall?

Wow iamhuge speaking in the ****ing third person....what the **** do we have developing here?

Actually, I think the use of "you" makes it second-person with Doid being the protagonist in the discussion.  Third-person in the LLPP is encouraged, but I think second-person is frowned upon.  Can we get an official ruling?

EDIT: I just broke down and watched the video (I felt bad about the piling on, but my curiosity finally overcame me).  The comments about the tackling are spot on.  However, when I got to the blocking portion of the video I was more impressed with Josh Gordon (#22) and the cuts he was making along with his speed.  I wouldn't mind seeing him in the Purple and Gold next year, especially if he's halfway decent as a DB.

Maybe someone should just email and ask the Union coaches if either of them are being recruited??

Yeah because I'm sure the coaches are so enamored with these players that they can't wait to talk about them with the posters of these boards...

I'd bite, but I think it's an NCAA violation for Union (or any other school) to discuss prospective recruits when there is an active pursuit taking place.  I guess asking the non-specific question would garner at least some clue, but I'd rather avoid such a scenario because of the potential implications.

Why would Union want bad athletes from such a lousy football state?

If they were arrogant as hell and walked around with an undeserved sense of accomplishment...then Union might actually want them...

Why does MaxPreps pick undeserving athletes for their Pre-season All State watch list?

They do that because people that are not real recruits (99% of d3 players) like "Iamhuge" pay recruiting services to edit film, take photos, put names on websites, and hype up kids.  Then, those recruiting services buy advertising for companies like maxprep, scout.com, etc, etc.  Those companies then put those clients on "all prep teams" so it looks like people are getting their moneys worth.

He'd need to re-adjust his weight, Doid, no?  I mean a lineman shouldn't be THAT top-heavy... He'd need better leg strength (while he has some leg strength, it's different than the level he'd need to be in the trenches).  I can't even see him as a tight end unless he can catch (none of the video seems to show him catching out of the backfield).  He's definitely D-3 in nature because that's the only level that would have a team willing to show him how to play a new position to THAT degree -- and even then, it's a big risk.

Even funnier is the baseball stuff...'Looks like he has had a busy summer'

This is some type of joke.  It HAS to be.

As an attorney, I'll give Trevor some free legal advice -- sue whomever it was that created that annoying split-screen BS.  I just puked up those three eggs from breakfast from motion sickness.

I just can't get enough of this.  The #1 pitching prospect looks like me trying to throw lefty(which isn't half bad by the way) and the swing is hilarious.  Little baby alligator arms...too funny.

Terd, help me out -- why would the kid be wearing triple digits on his back?  Was this even an organized baseball game?

He did catch some balls out of the backfield, but I meant blocking TE ( I was agreeing with uPBRme), I don't think he would be a "catching TE" (what is the opposite of blocking TE, just TE?). He actually played DLine on the film, including some NG, so I'm assuming that he'll have some game film there so that you could assess his overall line play, both ups and downs. The real problem here is assessing the competition, which I know nothing about, but at first blush didn't look strong. That's the problem with highlight videos, you only get the best plays vs. the weakest competition.  But with all that, I'll go ahead and say that he could find a home in NESCAC or NEFC, not at RB, but possibly on the line.
