originally business...but what I gather from these boards, the player is going to soon be persona non-grata in the Liberty League.

Well had you come in asking legit questions instead of saying how much of a beast the kid is and throwing his highlight film at us it may have been a little different.  We're not the ones who need to see the highlight film.  Not sure if you're aware of that.

Is he still fielding offers like you insinuated on the Florida Gators board?

tgp is biased but tgp can't rate hobart that low (it's acceptance rate is over 10 pts lower/better than WPI's for instance).

hard to compare rpi to other ll schools - more than 2x the students, plus graduate and doctoral programs.  it's a totally different kind of institution than a residential liberal arts college like union, bart or slu.

tgp also highly doubt the mma's academics are weak.  the mma only accepted 400 kids (out of 1600) so it effectively is the most difficult school to get into in the ll.  there avg sats (1200+ are also in the same range as union's, hobart's, etc).

of course only a specific kid - interested in fed service, maritime law, ships, etc would go there.

ultimately, a degree from any of these schools is a win IMO.

Just cause it's a list doesn't mean any of them are 'weak'.  I did my rankings based on my feelings towards how a school is perceived in the work force.  I felt weird putting MMA last, but i've never spoken to any businessmen that were like, 'Oh, I went to Merchant Marine Academy'.  They are just kind of their own animal.

My feelings towards WPI and Hobart were a toss up.  WPI is pretty strong in Engineering, but I don't feel that they have the well-rounded majors that RPI now has.  All the schools are good.  It's a tough question.  It would have to be more specific to really give a true breakdown.  This is just my big picture perception.

It's funny becuase I think there are equal amounts of guys from RPI, Union and Hobart on Wall St, just in different roles.

This is absurd.  Unless they have increased the number of gas stations in NYC, this statement is false.

This just in, a live pic taken from the Stony Brook campus. Word is that the arc is filled with Hofstra Football players all asking one question: Do you accept ****ing transfers???

If you had to rank the 8 Liberty League teams according to academics, how would you order them?

Without any research whatsoever, this is my perception:

1.  RPI
2.  Rochester
3.  Union
4.  WPI
5.  Hobart
6.  St. Lawrence
7.  MMA

Susquehanna doesn't count anymore...nor do I know anything about the school anyway.

dlip's take (and he is not being a homer here... ::))

1.  Union
2.  Hobart
3.  RPI
4.  WPI
5.  Rochester
6.  St. Lawrence
7.  MMA

If you say so, but I worked for two bulge brackets in front office groups (CMBS and Leveraged Finance) and that was my experience.  If your's says otherwise that's cool, but I'm just relaying what I know.  I knew a lot of guys at RBS, UBS, DB and some others from both Hobart and Union.  Maybe not so much with GS and MS, which are really on their own level (although arguably DCM, leveraged and structured finance haven't been their domain as much as the large boutiques like Jeffries, DLJ/CS, etc., but rather dominate M&A and, to a lesser extent equity capital markets).  It's easy to say what your saying, but I've met a lot of these guys.

Whoa, what's wrong with Gas stations? And, if you're talking about gas stations in Manhattan, well, I'd probably rather have a few of those than a job on Wall Street
