I got into Under Armour (UA) back in March (12.75 on 3/3/09) and have been doing quite well (26.90 as of today)...

Update:  Left a message for Athletic Director John Miranda (AD of the Princeton Regional Schools).  I'll fill you in once I speak with him.

Let me know what he says.  If he wants me to delete the posts on this message board, I will.  I can't do anything about the ones I didn't post, obviously.  Thanks.

I think it's a lot worse than that, Ernie.  You've sort of shed a spotlight on a school and program that had a rough summer -- stuff like that doesn't need to be rehashed, but when you go wholesale on these boards to the degree you have, you turn up that spotlight terribly.  I don't think it's just a question of deleting posts.  It's more a scenario in which you need to stop representing that school in any capacity.  We're not Trevor's father, obviously, so I can't tell his father how to raise him.  However, I can say that if he condoned your actions, he risks eligibility in the NCAA because of it.  This is not a minor wrist slap situation.

Like I said, if I violated any rules, I can't do anything about that now.  I certainly don't intend to violate any in the future - if these rules are clarified to me by someone who is concerned about them.

Regarding how I raise my son, you're right - that's my own business.  He seems to be a pretty happy kid from what I can tell.

Regarding his high school, I can't say enough about how great the place has been for my kids and I don't want to cause it any harm.    I am sure the AD knows how to do his job and I have always been there to help him any way I can.  So again, I appreciate your diligence and await your findings and direction.  I appreciate your concern regarding the well being of my boy.

I'd make sure there haven't been any violations.  Thats probably up to the Compliance guy at the HS.  He'll know what to do next if there is.

Hope its not the case, because it sounds like the kid is innocent in all of this.  But the NCAA would find out at some point anyhow and if they did that following the kid playing in some games, they'd be forfeited.

I am asking the same question, because I have seen THOUSANDS of videos of kids on the internet on DOZENS of recruiting boards.    You guys seem kind of picky over here if you ask me.

If you are trying to have fun at my expense, that's fine because I have a pretty good sense of humor..ok I get it.

If you are trying to have fun at my son's expense, then I consider that somewhat hurtful and downright mean.

Potential fraud in the recruiting process (the "pump and dump" techniques used to manufacture interest based on interest that didn't exist from other schools).

Potentially improper communications during the "silent period," although I'm unsure as to how it affects the student side (it's normally discussed pertaining to the coach/school interested in the student).

There may be some I'm missing.

While he's certainly not doing the kid any favors, I don't see any violations being committed here.

I was actually feeling sorry for you until you decided to take the offensive again.  Know when you're ahead of the game and shut up for once.  I was sincerely asking how it should be handled at this point by a fellow user -- and you aren't so huge in my eyes after all this stuff.  The whole point is to not have fun at your son's expense -- or to cost your son anything at this point.  I'm going to ask the AD to have a long discussion with you because you obviously have no understanding or desire to comprehend the rules.  I appreciate you wanting your son to play for a great school.  However, there are lines you crossed over and over again.

Fraud? Nope, that happens all of the time. Hell, that's what half of the recruiting services do.

The schools are the ones who are not allowed to communicate during the silent period, so as long as the schools aren't communicating with the kid or his representatives, then no foul.

You fully comfortable it didn't happen here?

[EDIT:  I find it hard to believe that fraud at the student level wouldn't constitute a potential eligibility violation.  If it's illegal in a law sense, which it is, then it must be a violation at the NCAA level.]
