Frank...there appears to be no question that the poster has exercised overreaching and detrimental approaches towards 'helping' his son get recruited.  I mean, what son wants his dad embarrassing him in this manner?

Nonetheless, the 'problem' doesnt get resolved with overreaching on 'our' part.  This is between the dad, the son and the colleges that might be looking at him....lets leave it at that.

I am sure the HS can fend for itself it perceives a harm to it has occurred.

My opinion is let it rest.

I don't think there were any violations or anything...

Just a douche bag posting...

This is too much.  It really is.

Not so huge anymore, eh?  How would you handle this one, Jonny?

If you are trying to have fun at my expense, that's fine because I have a pretty good sense of humor..ok I get it.

If you are trying to have fun at my son's expense, then I consider that somewhat hurtful and downright mean.

I was actually feeling sorry for you until you decided to take the offensive again.  Know when you're ahead of the game and shut up for once.  I was sincerely asking how it should be handled at this point by a fellow user -- and you aren't so huge in my eyes after all this stuff.  The whole point is to not have fun at your son's expense -- or to cost your son anything at this point.  I'm going to ask the AD to have a long discussion with you because you obviously have no understanding or desire to comprehend the rules.  I appreciate you wanting your son to play for a great school.  However, there are lines you crossed over and over again.

I will comply but like another guy said on here this stuff is all over the place and I have never seen any NCAA rules about posting videos on websites.  If you find one, please let me know.  His Youtube video, like thousands of other kids' videos is googleable (if that is a word).  These kids are pretty easy to find now a days...and I think the colleges don't have a problem with that.  It saves them trips to high school games.

I think we're in agreement here.  My idea was to talk to the AD, alert him to the situation since it's reached epidemic proportions across the Internet and ask him to discuss the situation with Ernie and Trevor.  I think the AD has a right to know what's happening here -- and if he doesn't want to take action, then that's his decision.

Posting  video is fine.  It's the manufacturing of phantom interest that's illegal.  It's called "fraud in the inducement."

I have no problem with that.  It is a lesson for all of us.  I promise to comply with whatever his guidelines are.  Trevor might be playing in this league as he has been contacted by a number of the coaches of LL schools and he likes what he has heard.  (Is it ok for me to say that in this forum?).  If he does, I will let you guys know.  I am sure you'll have fun watching him in person.

Have a good weekend.

First of all, no coach wants to see a highlight tape.  Anyone can look halfway decent on a highlight tape.  Send in game films, they want to see those not professionally cut up tapes set to music.

Second, stop being a douche.

Update:  Left a message for Athletic Director John Miranda (AD of the Princeton Regional Schools).  I'll fill you in once I speak with him.

Let me know what he says.  If he wants me to delete the posts on this message board, I will.  I can't do anything about the ones I didn't post, obviously.  Thanks.

I think it's a lot worse than that, Ernie.  You've sort of shed a spotlight on a school and program that had a rough summer -- stuff like that doesn't need to be rehashed, but when you go wholesale on these boards to the degree you have, you turn up that spotlight terribly.  I don't think it's just a question of deleting posts.  It's more a scenario in which you need to stop representing that school in any capacity.  We're not Trevor's father, obviously, so I can't tell his father how to raise him.  However, I can say that if he condoned your actions, he risks eligibility in the NCAA because of it.  This is not a minor wrist slap situation.

Like I said, if I violated any rules, I can't do anything about that now.  I certainly don't intend to violate any in the future - if these rules are clarified to me by someone who is concerned about them.

Regarding how I raise my son, you're right - that's my own business.  He seems to be a pretty happy kid from what I can tell.

Regarding his high school, I can't say enough about how great the place has been for my kids and I don't want to cause it any harm.    I am sure the AD knows how to do his job and I have always been there to help him any way I can.  So again, I appreciate your diligence and await your findings and direction.  I appreciate your concern regarding the well being of my boy.

This is too much.  It really is.

Utah,
U89 for one is utterly confused by this entire scenario on many levels.

Honestly, no.  Don't tell us.  We'll find out after the fact and congratulate you guys then.  If you want information on schools, ask here by all means.  You can always reach out by private messages to the users here for personal questions.  Use some common sense, Ernie.  I truly wish your son well.  If he comes to Union, I'll be the first to shake his hand, as I understand what happened here a lot more over the last two days.

That is an inaccurate statement.  Almost all coaches ask for a highlight tape AND a game film (at least that's what they have asked of Trevor).

As far as being a douche......it's a work in progress.

I still think he will fit right into Union.  You can even videotape your tailgates and post them on youtube.  That would be something.

But seriously, isn't the early admission process just about over for these nescac and LL schools?

I know for a fact early admission for nescac schools is over in mid november for 4 of those schools.
