Received a call back from the Princeton, NJ regional schools Athletic Director today.  I'd characterize the conversation as very productive.  I'd prefer to leave it at that out of respect for the participants in this situation.

On a side note, the AD's son plays for Johns Hopkins, so he's a fan of Division III football and the D3football.com site.  He froze his butt off at the JHU/Wesley game on Saturday, so +K to a fellow D3 fan.

Agree on Suh...the guy is a monster.  Anyone else remember a DL having this much of an impact???  I am sure there are some that are arguable...but none that come across immediately.

Chris Long at UVA a couple of years ago kind of stands out but I don't think he received many votes for the Heisman.  Best interior lineman in terms of heisman voting is proably  Hugh Green from Pitt.

Good call on Howie's kid...he was pretty dominant...though I think I like Suh a bit more, at least right now.

Green was an absolute monster as well.

phew got to go back thru the memory bank...  maybe steve emtman from washington? ngoto was a wrecking ball as well at oregon but being on the west coast we didnt hear much about him on the east coast.  if memory serves me right a guy named kenneth sims from texas was the 1st overall pick but never amounted to anything. see if pbr can think of any others...

Considering he was high 95 percent of the time, seems like Warren Sapp was pretty dominant back in the day.

Really...its not ok to cry after a loss like that?  Man after 4 years of HS football, and losing in sectionals after an undefeated reg season, I dont remember too many dry eyes around.  After college career, not so much, but we ended on a win in a non-playoff season.

Yeah I don't get it. It's OK when Brett Favre cries, but apparently NOT when Tim Tebow cries

I can't believe it was brought up again.  I thought it was finally over.

Russel Maryland was an absolute beast at Miami.

D Lineman List (in no order, just DT's/ NG's, not DE's, and only ones that I have seen, since about 1970)
1) Suh
2) Warren Sapp
3) Russell Maryland
4) Glenn Dorsey
5) Bruce Smith
6) Randy White
7) Mean Joe Green (The North Texas teams are the "Mean Green". Not a nickname, but the official name).
8.) Reggie White
9) Leroy Selmon
10) Steve Emtman
11) Chris Zorich
12) Tony Casillas

Yup, it's December in the LL. How long until August? (thank god for lax)

Speaking of Miami, ever see this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMvjADmxhVw

I love how the maker of this video seems to rely on Keith Jackson's analysis.  That's about as sound as basing a penalty call on my analysis -- except, I don't have spotters and directors in my ear at all times.  Reminds me of the "frozen cat terd" analysis of Union/Hobart '04 I tried to do.

I still don't think it's a pass interference OR holding call.  Jamming at the line of scrimmage is nothing unusual... I don't see where he's held.  And if he were, why did the flag take a full 12 seconds to come out after the "jam?"

What were your feelings on this one??

PBR...

2 other really dominating college dlineman were matt millen and bruce clark at psu. pbr saw them play many times live and besides being very good and talented those doods were just 2 mean m'fers that had a real edge to them. think they scared 1/2 the people they played against.

SF's squad didn't make the LLPPFFL Playoffs --- tough year.  It was fun though and hopefully we do it again next season.

I saw gro locked all the non-playoff teams from making roster moves ---- probably a good idea with some of the hooligans who didn't make the playoffs.

I was out of the office in meetings yesterday and missed LLPP, Inc.'s Tebow discussion.  Even I am sick of the Tebow stories but I am not sure why the media's coverage of him makes people hate him instead of hating the media.

Either way, I had an interesting discussion with a huge Gator-fan friend who also happens to be a minister yesterday.  Tebow wore John 16:33 on his eye-black for the SEC Championship Game.  That verse says "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

So, the question a lot of Gator fans are asking is, did Tebow know in advance that the defense had no chance of stopping Mark Ingram?  Was he trying to warn Gator Nation?

Wow, 7 teams tied for the final playoff spot... and the team that got in (KS) had the most points in the entire league. That's FF for you, no way the #1 scoring team should be fighting to make the #8 seed.

If your season is done, thanks for playing. If you survived the 18 team gauntlet and made the playoffs, beware the dippers.

Maybe it just means 2 National Championships and a Heisman aren't enough for God.

This season was wacked.  You could score 150 points 1 week and 54 the next.  18 team leagues are out of control.  Seriously, anyone can win in any given week.

And I still love how TDT was saying how great the 'other' division was...while 2, yes 2!!! teams finish with a winning record.
