Dlipping congrats Dlip, have fun with her.  You spend the first year worrying if they will walk and talk and the rest of your life trying to get them to sit down and shut up.

And how about this one, folks?!

http://www.d3football.com/notables/2009/12/10/1796/four-named-gagliardi-regional-finalists.html

Four named regional finalists for Gagliardi Trophy

Four finalists have been named for the 2009 Gagliardi Trophy, awarded annually to the outstanding football player in NCAA Division III. Sponsored by Jostens and the J-Club of Saint John's University, Minnesota, the Gagliardi Trophy recognizes excellence in athletics, academics and community service.

The four region finalists are: John Peters, Sr., Linebacker, Union; Blaine Westemeyer, Sr., Tackle, Augustana; Spud Dick, Sr., Quarterback, DePauw; and Alex Tanney, Jr., Quarterback, Monmouth.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday, December 15 and the recipient will be presented with the trophy on Thursday evening, Dec. 17 at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va., as part of the festivities surrounding the Stagg Bowl.

-------------------

John is a quality individual, and his play on the field was second-to-none this season.  He's going to be attending med school next year -- a testament to his drive on and off the field.  I wish him nothing but the best of luck in this final vote.
