While we sometimes overlook it in this netherworld of posting there is more to life than football, even at the highest levels.

This is a much better ending to his story than reading the shocking news of his untimely death and feeling sorrow for his widow and children.

I have never been a Florida fan but the father in me wishes him the very best in this transition with hopes that his cerebral cortex can live without the constant adrenal bath of big-time college football.

Go Warriors!

How much does he Bench?

Not as much as I do.

Ernie, you're the best.

Jersey Shore's got nothing on you.

Now, ESPN reports that Urban Meyer is NOT resigning, but taking a leav of absence after the Sugar Bowl.  During the leave, Florida's Offensive Coordinator will take over his duties.  Meyer's press conference begins after 4pm EST.  Interesting turn to a story that seemed pretty much open and shut last night.

Overnight, though, even the casual fan learned how bad his health really is -- some apparent heart functioning issues (some denied, some implicitly confirmed earlier in the season).  I hope he's making the right decision in case the heart questions are true.  My thought is that he could use this change of heart for a much more orderly transition than what last night's sudden news would've provided.  Interested to hear his answers later in the press conference and hope this is the right decision (even being the Miami fan and alum I am).

Can I get some LLPP love for dewcrew's dominators in the LLPPFFL? And hope that Percy Harvin doesn't play that many snaps?

Most people in LLPP have had that happen.  It normally coincides with a level 5 or above hangover

Dude if dlip has learned anything in this life it is that ones health is ****ing everything. Let it ****in go Urban, step back, take care of your health, and be with your family. The man is an amazing coach and has had success at every school he has coached at. dlip hopes he is O.K. and wishes him the best but still thinks he should be done with it, take a front office job, relax, and enjoy his life minus the weight of the Florida Gator world on his shoulders and heart.

-**** dlip just found out his ****in cat, pants, might not have too much longer to go. Not the ****in news he was hopin for. Amazing how one can get so close to an animal over time. dlip took "Pants" from a girl in college who treated her like ****. Since that time Pants has been along for every major event in dlip's life. Pants also couldn't stand children with the exception of the new baby. Pants took to Sophia right away, amazing how life works. Mother****er!

Just be careful with Pants around Sophia's crib/cradle.  Cats have this habit of trying to "steal the breath" away from a baby by sleeping on or around the baby's face.  It may look cute, but it's a real problem in new-baby/cat families.  This happened a couple times when my niece was born -- my sister flipped out whenever she saw it much to my confusion at the time.

Hmm, wonder if it has to do with the smell of a baby's breath (formula or breast milk)...

From what I can see, it's been discounted a bit over the last decade as our understanding of SIDS has progressed.  However, there are still warnings against allowing cats to be alone near babies because, as you said, the smell of formula or the warmth of the baby's breath may induce the cat to get too close to the baby's mouth -- thus, potentially (accidentally) suffocating the baby in rare instances.  Here's a pretty good analysis of the situation:

Maybe you should think twice before twice reprimanding the injured son of the color commentator of your bowl game, Mike Leach...

http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory?id=9436705

For as entertaining as Leach has been, this was just pure stupidity on his part, if the accusations are true.  The story says that Craig James will no longer be the color commentator of the Alamo Bowl, likely as a result of this episode.

2. Patrone Wood is the baddest name since dick butkis.

3. Props are in order for Dewcrew's victory in the LLPPFFL. Gro got a little silly in the lineups at the end (Josh Freeman?) and it cost him. Congrats!
