what ever happened to the good old days when it was the guy who said, "C'mon.  Let me stick the tip in...just to see how it feels"?

SF loves playing "just the tip".... haha   Rev, do Koreans fall for that trick?

Did you also live in Cincy for the Shula era?  At least I was already in NJ for the Handley/Kotite debacle.

SF did... he was a complete moron.  But his press conferences weren't as bad as they had under Dick LeBeau.  They took the cake.

I went to the Cowboys-Chargers game this year, stayed in the box after the game to continue the party and wait out the traffic. Watching the Norv Turner - Wade Phillips after game press conferences, we all agreed that they set the low bar for all future press conferences to be measured, and I dare say one that will never be beat.  Mumbled, monotone, unemotionless cliche after cliche, dead blank stares into space, even the press got bored and just let them end.

The Rev is on suicide watch.

Rev turned on the TV to the Korean English-language channel, "Arirang," which is a super cheesy government sponsored network that specializes in dippy shows.  This show currently on is about 7 girls from Mongolia who came to Korea to major in being fashion models at a university here.  Koreans are very into fashion.  OK, so the premise of the show is bad enough, but the script is horrible.  They're talking about walking the runway like the girls are splitting atoms.

Why does the Rev do this to himself?  Oh the humanity!  Maybe The Rev needs to talk to the network and see if he can get his own show about American football in Korea.  We have a ton of universities with teams.  They suck.

On a more positive note, the dollar is sinking a little against the Won.  The Rev gets paid on the 10th, and is hoping the downward movement continues.  Then The Rev can buy more dollars.  The Rev's luck is not so good.  It seems like every month around the 5th, the Won is strongest against the dollar, then on the morning of the 10th, the won weakens.  Then it perks up again last in the month, peaking again on the 5th of the following month, and the cycle continues.

Why does someone with so many skeletons continue to goad me??

Ummmm... Do tell?  What skeletons are these?

[EDIT: By the way, that statement earlier about the nickel was A JOKE.  It followed a hilarious commercial about Bud Light.  Lighten the hell up for God's sake, U89!]

Dood, as everyone here knows, we don't get along.  As I have said to you, I ignore your posts and asked you to do the same with mine....needless to say I don't take to you including me in your jokes.

Happy New Year.  TGP is attending a HWS gathering next week (1/12) here in LA.  For the first time (probably ever), the reception is nearby (about 3-4 miles from the Pumpkin patch).

There must be some big donors in the audience b/c Gearan and several Alum House/Campaign staff are rolling out here as well.

TGP is contemplating showing up to the reception in his WWP Camo 'Bart jersey (but the wife would likely stay home if TGP pulled that one).

Only a few more weeks til lax season.  go Bart!

Regarding the Redskins:

I have been a die hard fan since I was 8...1982.  I grew up idolizing John Riggins, Theismann, Darrell Green, Gary Clark, Monte Coleman, Sean Taylor, et al.

The good 'ol days are gone and they aint comin back under this ownership crew that completely lacks leadership.  Lyco80 was correct. High priced  'Talent' has gotten this team no where fast.  It needs chemistry, and chemistry needs leadership and Snyder aint got it.  Shanahan just punched his ticket to mediocrity. He WILL go 21-27 and be gone in 3 seasons.

....and U89...Uhm...Frank and I have had our train wrecks on here, but do you have any sense of humor or ability to 'shrug it off'?

Is it a good day or bad day when you discover an EX on a "jail tracker" website?  SF was laughing at buddy's mugshots for things like DUI and decided to see who he knew... this one jumped out at me.  Charged with (in 2007) Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Mischief.  SF dated this one while he was in college 10 years before the incident.  Looked like someone dotted her eye (both of them) that night.

Maybe SF will go to the website when he's having a bad day just to feel better about past choices!

Did you see the e-mail that we can still pick up a Wounded Warrior Project from SAA for $100?  You could get one for your wife and then you guys could be a matching set.  I'm sure she'd go for it!

How does Bart look for lax this year?  Will we do alright?

There's something inherently hot about a chick playing bass.  That she is playing disco is hotter.

There's another site dedicated to lax that predicted 9-5 (although that includes a loss to Colgate where they also give Colgate a loss to Bart, so the math doesn't work for one school), but it's a f'ed up conference (Air Force, U Denver, Ohio St, Bellarmine, Quinnipiac, Fairfield, Loyola & Bart - it's like a travelling show).  Top Goalie in Conference and probably better than Freddie P (don't know when you graduated Rev, but he's been the benchmark for the DI era) and they return all but one of top six scorers, but there's been a lot of damage from the DI-DIII-DI debacle, so the last two recruiting classes have been a little shaky (especially this year's FR).  From Atlanta, there's nothing close to go to, but we're thinking of making the trip to Bellarmine, which is in Louisville, so I can do some Bourbon sipping and my wife can carry me back to the hotel.

TGP got the same SAA email and thought if he held out he would have saved $25 but TGP is happy to donate the funds to our soldiers who have come home with injuries.  It's the least TGP can do.  The unis are pretty cool too.

Bart lax will be good but may struggle out of the gate.  We have a SR AA candidate in our goalie and solid returning core group of players including Curtin at attack and Cassel at middie from last year's 7-7 team.  As you may or may not know the ECAC (Bart's current league) had a major facelift in the off-season as teams like GU, Rutgers, etc jumped ship to go to the new Big East conference.

Young offense is back a year older but there's no apparent studs at attack so TGP has concerns about enough goals being scored which hurt Bart last year (i.e. our goals against D was one of the best in D1 but we didn't have the guns to put games away).

Still fans will need to be patient given Bart's got a brutal opening schedule (opening vs Cornell and playing Bucknell, Colgate and Syracuse b/f the end of March) and much longer road trips (Denver, Louisville, and RI) this season than in prior years.

PA - Rev is a couple of years older than TGP (but TGP is more mature).  Freddie P was great re DI but Billy Warder from my year and Jim Gracey were also great goalies that Rev will remember.

TGP is thinking of going to Denver for the same reason.  Tix from LA on SWA aren't too bad (about $225 round trip).
