U89 hates this weekends matchup for the Patriots.  Between the running of Ray Rice and the pressure of the Ravens defensive front on Brady, could be a long day in Foxboro.

Regarding the Redskins:

I have been a die hard fan since I was 8...1982.  I grew up idolizing John Riggins, Theismann, Darrell Green, Gary Clark, Monte Coleman, Sean Taylor, et al.

The good 'ol days are gone and they aint comin back under this ownership crew that completely lacks leadership.  Lyco80 was correct. High priced  'Talent' has gotten this team no where fast.  It needs chemistry, and chemistry needs leadership and Snyder aint got it.  Shanahan just punched his ticket to mediocrity. He WILL go 21-27 and be gone in 3 seasons.

....and U89...Uhm...Frank and I have had our train wrecks on here, but do you have any sense of humor or ability to 'shrug it off'?

Dude, you and I have had out disagreements also and I'm cool with you.....the passive/agressive crap bothers me....

I always thought I was pretty aggressive around here.  I'm losing my touch in my old age.  Still waiting for my phone to ring, though.  It's like the first hour of a telethon right now -- no callers.

I don't tend to call people on the phone I don't care for.....unless i'm wasted and looking for a piece of tail late night...

True.........True.

It will be a long day but Pats are good enough to escape with a win.  Second round is where it gets even more dicey unless Edelman or someone else steps up in the passing game.  BTW - here's an interesting story re Edelman:

Edelman really impressed at his pro day workout in the Kent State Field House. Edelman ran a 4.51 second 40-yard dash, which would have topped all quarterbacks at the NFL Scouting Combine in February and placed him in the top 15 among receivers. Edelman's times of 3.91 seconds in the short shuttle and 10.74 in the long shuttle would have been the fastest times recorded at the Combine, regardless of position. NFL people asked him to run the short shuttle again because they didn't believe the number and Edelman actually ran it even faster the next time.
"He's a really skilled guy, similar to (Antwaan) Randle El and Seneca Wallace. He can play 'Wildcat,' return kicks, and he may be the next Wes Welker as a wide receiver," a league insider said.

MA....THE MEATLOAF!!!

BRADENTON, Fla.,  Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida
said a man was arrested for allegedly smearing meatloaf in his
wife's face while they were discussing a separation.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said Lance David
Ziegler, 39, allegedly picked the meatloaf up off his kitchen
table and smeared it into his wife's face Wednesday after she
announced her intention to leave him, the Sarasota (Fla.)
Herald-Tribune reported Thursday.
Deputies said they arrived at the home at about 7:45 p.m.
and found the woman's face was slightly red and slathered with
small amount of residual sauce.
Ziegler, who told deputies he had not hit his wife, was
arrested and charged with domestic battery.

Love it! Is there any doubt that he was wearing a wife beater T?

On the subject of guns:

My father, a USMC Korean War veteran, always taught me to treat every gun as if it were loaded and even at 78 would kick my a$$ if I pulled a punk stunt like these NBA players did in their locker room.  What is sad is I wonder if these athletes had anyone like my old man to teach them how to behave like men when they were yet boys?

A couple of dad's gems:

"Don't worry about the horse, just load the wagon."

"I am not underwriting your BS."

"Your feelings are not worth my integrity."

And the best catch-all phraseology of "knock off that grab-a$$ and quit lollygagging."

Note:  to all uninformed land lubbers, lollygagging is sitting on the yard arms of the sailing ship with your legs and feet ballooned up by the wind.  A nice comfy ride until the wind either slackens or dies down, at which point the aforementioned lollygagger would lose his comfy air cushion and plunge either into the sea or the deck - usually resulting in death.

In other words - don't goof off.

Nope - the old man was priceless.   Frightening to think I find myself sounding more and more like him all the time.

Same thing the Marine Gunny taught us squids in Small Arms Instructors School in Little Creek Va.  KS was attending and gun safety was preached constantly to us by Gunny.  If any of us had pulled what Arenas did we would have been the receipients of a good old fashioned "Blanket Party" that night.

One of my Dad's gems:  There are no brakes on a bullet.

JT has no problem with professional athletes owning guns.  One has to protect themselves.  However, it appears to JT that the pro leagues are dropping the ball on education.  There's no reason there shouldn't be gun training courses promoted by the union and the leagues.  They have finance courses and other stuff like that.  Why not gun use?  It would certainly cut down on the BS.

Come on JT these multi ****ing millionaires need to protect themselves from what??? Their ****in drug dealers, their associating themselves with dangerous people, or their own teammates bringing multiple guns into their locker rooms when they want to settle an argument? Please, education on guns, you talk as if these athletes who are caught with guns give a **** about anything let alone taking a gun safety course to educate themselves on the weapons they carry. Try this out. They have no ****ing reason to carry hand guns and ****ing pistols if they are living and acting like responsible adults. Hand guns are ****ing retarded objects unless they are being used for the military, police work, or personal collection and being stored safely. Mr. Arenas is even more retarded dude. dlip means how much can you educate a million dollar assface whom the first game after the incident where he pulled a gun on a teammate he is mock shooting his teammates before a game. This guy and any other athlete who brings a gun anywhere besides hunting deserves to be chastised for what they are, ****ing stupid.

I kind of agree with JT here.  If you can show that you are responsible, you should be able to carry a gun.  Look at that kid from the Redskins that came home and got jacked up.
