U89 hates this weekends matchup for the Patriots.  Between the running of Ray Rice and the pressure of the Ravens defensive front on Brady, could be a long day in Foxboro.

It will be a long day but Pats are good enough to escape with a win.  Second round is where it gets even more dicey unless Edelman or someone else steps up in the passing game.  BTW - here's an interesting story re Edelman:

Edelman really impressed at his pro day workout in the Kent State Field House. Edelman ran a 4.51 second 40-yard dash, which would have topped all quarterbacks at the NFL Scouting Combine in February and placed him in the top 15 among receivers. Edelman's times of 3.91 seconds in the short shuttle and 10.74 in the long shuttle would have been the fastest times recorded at the Combine, regardless of position. NFL people asked him to run the short shuttle again because they didn't believe the number and Edelman actually ran it even faster the next time.
"He's a really skilled guy, similar to (Antwaan) Randle El and Seneca Wallace. He can play 'Wildcat,' return kicks, and he may be the next Wes Welker as a wide receiver," a league insider said.

Jan. 08 (AFP) -- Porn powerhouse Pink Visual is using
augmented reality technology to let viewers virtually join in
the on-screen action.
Software being tested online at ipinkvisualpass.com/ar/
superimposes animated sexy characters onto scenes captured by
Web cameras linked to home computers in what Pink calls a move
to "augmented reality."
"Augmented reality will let people put themselves into the
scene," Pink's Kim Kysar told AFP at an AVN Adult Entertainment
Expo taking place in Las Vegas this week.
"There is also a way to get the girls into your kitchen,
on your bed... We provide the images and you provide the
scene."
The interactive system is based on Adobe Flash Player
software and is controlled for now by holding a card printed
with a Pink Visual logo icon in front of Web cameras to cue the
online program.
"The Web camera takes in the room, then puts a porn star
or stripper in the scene," Pink producer Matt Morningwood said
while demonstrating the augmented reality for AFP.

"If I get the girl any closer to being in your room I'll
be a pimp, and I don't want to do that."
The augmented reality is still in development, according
to Morningwood, who said the opportunities for weaving viewers
into scenes are limitless.
"I like it," porn star Devon Lee said after trying it for
herself. "Especially, the part where I don't really have to be
in the room."

On the subject of guns:

My father, a USMC Korean War veteran, always taught me to treat every gun as if it were loaded and even at 78 would kick my a$$ if I pulled a punk stunt like these NBA players did in their locker room.  What is sad is I wonder if these athletes had anyone like my old man to teach them how to behave like men when they were yet boys?

A couple of dad's gems:

"Don't worry about the horse, just load the wagon."

"I am not underwriting your BS."

"Your feelings are not worth my integrity."

And the best catch-all phraseology of "knock off that grab-a$$ and quit lollygagging."

Note:  to all uninformed land lubbers, lollygagging is sitting on the yard arms of the sailing ship with your legs and feet ballooned up by the wind.  A nice comfy ride until the wind either slackens or dies down, at which point the aforementioned lollygagger would lose his comfy air cushion and plunge either into the sea or the deck - usually resulting in death.

In other words - don't goof off.

Nope - the old man was priceless.   Frightening to think I find myself sounding more and more like him all the time.

ATB

Same thing the Marine Gunny taught us squids in Small Arms Instructors School in Little Creek Va.  KS was attending and gun safety was preached constantly to us by Gunny.  If any of us had pulled what Arenas did we would have been the receipients of a good old fashioned "Blanket Party" that night.

One of my Dad's gems:  There are no brakes on a bullet.

JT has no problem with professional athletes owning guns.  One has to protect themselves.  However, it appears to JT that the pro leagues are dropping the ball on education.  There's no reason there shouldn't be gun training courses promoted by the union and the leagues.  They have finance courses and other stuff like that.  Why not gun use?  It would certainly cut down on the BS.

"If you own guns and really want to protect yourself and your family like the pros in law enforcement... take X course"

Something like that.

Come on JT these multi ****ing millionaires need to protect themselves from what??? Their ****in drug dealers, their associating themselves with dangerous people, or their own teammates bringing multiple guns into their locker rooms when they want to settle an argument? Please, education on guns, you talk as if these athletes who are caught with guns give a **** about anything let alone taking a gun safety course to educate themselves on the weapons they carry. Try this out. They have no ****ing reason to carry hand guns and ****ing pistols if they are living and acting like responsible adults. Hand guns are ****ing retarded and so is Mr. Arenas dude. dlip means how much can you educate a million dollar retard whom the first game after the incident where he pulled a gun on a teammate he is mock shooting his teammates before a game. This guy and any other athlete who brings a gun anywhere besides hunting deserves to be chastised for what they are, ****ing stupid.

I kind of agree with JT here.  If you can show that you are responsible, you should be able to carry a gun.  Look at that kid from the Redskins that came home and got jacked up.

Not a new saying, but hits the nail on the head:
"If you Outlaw guns......only Outlaws will have guns"........very true.

everybody kiss the ground...

Brockport, N.Y. (AP) -- The state university in Brockport,
N.Y., is telling people to stay in their buildings and lock the
doors because of reports of gunfire just off campus.
A notice on the College at Brockport's Web site says police
reported an "active shooter" just before 1:30 p.m. on a road at
the western border of the campus.
Calls to police and the Monroe County Sheriff's Department
weren't immediately returned. No other details were available
Friday afternoon.
The regular semester hasn't started yet at the school
outside Rochester.

Yeah this had the campus on lockdown for a while... The shooting was off campus and the shooter was caught... I'm not sure what the cause of this was...at least from what I've heard.  A Sheriff was shot in the leg and another was hit but no serious injuries.

dlip gonna hit the last two pages with some k as a result of the sniper striking. To be honest even though it seems as if everyone disagrees with dlip's gun stance he still felt there were some good points made for both sides. One thing dlip knows he needs to work on is the way he debates when he is talking about things he is passionate about. dlip tends to let his emotions take over a bit and when this happens he tends to make some comments that border on personal attacks against others he likes. Gun control is just something dlip is very passionate about as a result of his uncle being shot at a hold up when dlip was a child. It was very emotional and scary. One thing that stuck with dlip was that his uncle, who at the time was a world ranked power lifter and a bad ass mother****er to say the least. While working late one night he was shot by some punk mother****ers and almost died. The bullet remains lodged in his stomach mucles to this day. If those ****ers attempted that robbery with almost anything aside from a hand gun they would have gotton their ****ing asses kicked. Needless to say all involved are out and about and no longer incarcerated.
