Pats got pretty much manhandled today. dlip did not see this coming and was amazed when the score was 24-0 Baltimore at the end of the first Quarter :o. 3:10 left in the first half in Arizona and the cards look like they may punch it in again.

I hate to say it but I see a Jets/Ravens Championship game.  The Jets remind me a lot of that Giants team 2 years ago or the Steelers last year.  Tough defenses toward the end of the season.

I still can't decide if I like Rex Ryan or not.

Sadly, this is the point where the Jet's raise their fans expectations, only to crush them against the rocks. They've been doing it to us for so long that we're pretty hardened, but they just find different ways to do it. Hell, they've done it to us twice this year already. It's so bad that as a parent, I couldn't in good conscience put my kids through this, so they are Giants fans.

As to Rex Ryan, love him or hate him, at least the guy is interesting, and gives some fun press conferences/ interviews. In contrast to most of the cliche driven coaches out there.

pbr's friend is the DC for the jets and can tell you give them a chance. the jets are making this run w/ a rookie qb. they are going to retool this roster and the mindset/attitude that ryan et al bring are completely different. some more drafts and FA signings and the jets will well be on their way.

Gro knows Mr. Flacco is a much better QB than Trent Dilfer but yesterday's performance was straight out of the Dilfer manual. Got to throw some passes downfield if they want to beat the Colts.

that could be difficult dont the colts still play a 2 deep zone? i.e. keep everything in front of them? although if heap is healthy he could run wild....

QuoteSF was at the Bungles/J-E-T-S .... worse than the play on the field was the attitudes of the fans.  SF and his buddy were walking out of the stadium and heard some Cincy retard talking about 9-11.  SF turned around and grabbed him by the jacket collar.  Both SF and buddy have been talking today and we shoulda punched the MF'er.... and dealt with consequences (cops were 10 feet away).  Amatures.

+k for handeling the situation. Hopefully you scared the **** out of the ****ing asshole, nice SF!

Save for the 1st year, Mangini drove JT crazy.  JT is glad he and his "process" have left.  He made players hate their jobs.

As long as Rex doesn't pull a build and bail like Parcells, the Jets may make it to the promised land.  JT would like to see Danny Woodhead get some work in the slot ala Welker. The kid can play.

*sigh* been giving them a chance for my entire life with nothing to show for it (I was 4 in 1969, so I got no joy from that Super Bowl), but I'm not going to stop now. From Richard Todd in the mud vs. Miami, to seeing Denver come back in the 2nd half of the AFC Championship game with Parcells, hope is all I have to show for being a Jets fan. But we carry on...J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!

So these guys were responsible for the "after much thought and prayer, we decided to move forward" quote...anyone that starts out with something like this is an a$$ in my book.

I don't know, wouldn't you think he would have hurried up and released this statement, oh, say, the week after Thanksgiving? Just a thought...

NEW YORK (AP) — Mark McGwire finally came clean Monday, admitting he used steroids when he broke baseball's home run record in 1998.
McGwire said in a statement sent to The Associated Press on Monday that he used steroids on and off for nearly a decade.

"I wish I had never touched steroids," McGwire said in a statement. "It was foolish and it was a mistake. I truly apologize. Looking back, I wish I had never played during the steroid era."

McGwire also used human growth hormone, a person close to McGwire said, speaking on condition of anonymity because McGwire didn't include that detail in his statement.

McGwire's decision to admit using steroids was prompted by his decision to become hitting coach of the St. Louis Cardinals, his final big league team. Tony La Russa, McGwire's manager in Oakland and St. Louis, has been among McGwire's biggest supporters and thinks returning to the field can restore the former slugger's reputation.

"I never knew when, but I always knew this day would come," McGwire said. "It's time for me to talk about the past and to confirm what people have suspected."

Now that he admitted to taking steroids for that long, and after his Oscar worthy perfomance in front of Congress and few years back, there is no way this guys ever makes the Hall...

Thats like being alone in an elevator and having the guy next to you fart in the elevator.  Silent but deadly though.

Both people knew who dealt it...  One dude is silently laughing the other silently wishing for Febreeze ---- and probably not even worth talking about now.

JT would respect him a little bit had he done the right thing in front of Congress.  Now he hoping that he doesn't get treated like Pete Rose.

Mr. Ypsi

I actually kinda like Mark, but is there any compelling reason he SHOULDN'T get treated like Pete?

I'm even more fond of Sammy Sosa, but strongly suspect he is in the same fix.

As far as I'm concerned the career home run mark is still held by Aaron, and the season mark by Maris (unless ANY of the 62+ guys can weather all allegations).

= I never took steroids

= I never took steroids

= I am not here to talk about the past

= After getting little to no votes for the Hall on his first chances Mcguire is going to try going a different way...honesty ;)

*The end result will be the same, no HOF for Mcguire and that is the way it should be. Although with dlip's renued not holier than though stance he does hope Mcguire can move on with his life now with all that weight (which he deserved) off his shoulders.

For those on Facebook......there is a great group called, "TEAM LEACH".  The group is dedicated to supporting Mike Leach and TT football in general over the actual institution.  If you go on, go into the photo's area.  In and around photo 150 are some apparent e-mails from administrators involving Leach's impending contract from January & February '09.....pretty interesting stuff if authentic.
