I agree with Paterno 100%.  And the system makes it tougher on the good guys like Paterno and his dad that have always tried to do the right thing.  I mean, even Penn St. had that small period where the team was riddled with criminals and incidents.  The whole system kind of forces this to happen to schools like Penn St.

absolutely psu had a year where it seemed they had so many off field problems granted most of the stuff was fighting etc...joe finally had enough of the new school way of doing things and went back to what he knew u screw up once you have to work your way out of the dog house 2nd time your thrown out of the school.  just like the way jay talked about the how the value system is lost now in search of the dollar and being on espn. how people used to get into coaching to shape kids lives and make them productive members of society whereas now its all about $$$ and kids are just objects to be used for more money

+k for the post of a great ****in article. It goes to show that even in this modern world there are still those with old school thoughts, morals, and responsibility. Again as dlip previously stated he can't blame Kiffen for taking the job especially when you take into account the buisness culture that has infultrated D1 sportds. Yet, someone, somewhere has to take a stand and try to bring college sports back to reality and focus on what it should; the student athlete. Sounds to dlip as if Paterno's kid could be a start.

This is nothing new.  Simers' schtick is to mock any and all LA sports teams (except the Lakers).

yeah noticed he didnt mention that jerry buss paid the $800K buyout to tennessee to buyout kiffin....

***forgot to mention that kiffin already put his size 10 in his mouth again LMAO! this guys ego is bigger than anyones pbr has ever seen...

"During Kiffin's introductory press conference at USC yesterday, Kiffin was asked if he would run the USC offense: "That would be my guess because that's what I've always done."

That sentiment, which shocked many with the knowledge that USC was in desperate pursuit of Chow, was also noted by Scott Wolf of the L.A. DAILY NEWS.

In a stunning coincidence, that comment by Kiffin was later deleted from the press conference transcript on the official USC website.

Kiffin's comment was broadcast live on the KLAC-AM in Los Angeles, the flagship radio home of UCLA football - Chow's employer.

12 hours later Chow turned a multi-million dollar offer to join the USC coaching staff.

Turned down - yeah.  That is a big blow to SC.  I am not thrilled with kidKiff being the OC.  The 4th and 2 call from the 05 Rose Bowl still stings.....

Surprised ESPN got this before d3football.com did:

Pat and Keith do have day jobs, my guess is they probably will get to it eventually.  All the above is a hot topic on the OAC boards.

Hopefully PC's family is ok.

I work with a guy whose mother and several other family members were missing as of 2 days ago.  He went down yesterday morning. No word yet back here but the whole thing is tragic.
