come on reg u know racing...she purposely was going to the back for the first 1/2 of the race to stay out of trouble. pbr could be riding a ten speed bike and keep the draft with many cars breaking up the airflow. many cup drivers do this in the 500, there are just as many wrecks at the front...did junior not go airborne and flip while fighting for second place?

EDIT: btw reg how 'bout that move by junior...incredible had pbr up out of his seat  watching it. that boy can still get up on the wheel and drive when he has the car. and a big thumbs down to the track...this is daytona not north wilkesboro. get the track repaved before the cup series is back on july 4th...pot holes? seriously? the track is in florida not pennsylvania ...

PBR, God luv ya... was she hoping to get lucky and place in the top 10 down there?  How many other NASCAR guys are content to run all the way in the back.  She led a couple times in the IRL and even won once in Japan but SF thinks this is her MO... just keep people interested by finishing in the top half of the events she enters.  That way, she's still kinda talked about and still gets endorsement $$.

Just my .01

me thinks she would of been very happy w/ a top 20 finish. w/ that many cup drivers in the race she was actually pretty realistic in where she thought she would finish. many cup drivers run the first 1/2 towards the back, in fact roush drivers are notorious for doing this at restrictor plate tracks. stewart and several others also hang out the backside and dont want to use up their equipment trying to stay out front for the first 100 laps.  this week will be more of challenge for her. the 1.5 mile tracks are all about handling and this is where her inexperience will start to show.

In fact, her stated goal was a top 20 finish. She just got caught up in a situation she couldn't escape when that wreck collected her, and I don't doubt that most of the other high-profile drivers have had the same thing happen to them at one time or another. Interestingly, Ray Evernham (former crew chief for Jeff Gordon and car owner for Bill Elliot and Jeremy Mayfield) was interviewed on local sportstalk today, and when the host asked him to rate Patrick's performance from 1-10 he gave her a 7. He said that she listened and learned, absorbed what she was told or observed, and was able to put it into practice fairly quickly. But he also agreed with PBR's premise that she would have more trouble this week at Fontana.

PBR I like the way you break it down... +K.    So is it not cool that I'm hoping for Fontana 1 /Danica 0 this weekend?

its all good...will be interesting to watch.  the cars are much more complicated than some people think. pbr's cousin was the head engineer for dodge when they came back into nascar and then toyota hired pbr's cousin to head up their design and head up their truck/nationwide then sprint cup projects. the amount of time/work put in on those cars is incredible.  that is why it took montoya a while to get his legs under him. when you tell you crew chief your car is loose what does that really mean? how loose is it? will a 1/2 pound or 1 pound of air pressure fix it? do you need to go up on the track bar? how about putting wedge in or out? many many factors...

KS thinks a better measure of how Danica is progressing is how well she does in the ARCA races.  Too many of the big boys like to race the Nationwide series now.  KS remembers when it was the Busch Grand National series and is was really the NASCAR minor leagues.

It's not a LL school.

God please let it be Ithaca...

TGP is guessing NESCAC

I think it's gotta be a school with both football and wrestling so Ithaca would be on the short list.
