Me-cheat-again...a.k.a michigan goes down in flames w/ 5 major ncaa rule infractions against the football team...dear lord we can only hope they keep rodriguez there another 10 years...next up u.s.c.

http://www.freep.com/article/20100223/SPORTS06/100223022/1054/NCAA-U-M-football-made-5-major-rule-violations

As a Wolverine (my grad degrees are from there and I still live in the area), I find what has happened supremely sad (and disgusting).  Up until the Fab Five era in basketball, Michigan was considered the most squeaky-clean athletic department in major college sports.

Let me relate a story of how it used to be (first-hand knowledge).  Back when I was a TA (early 1970s), a fellow TA in my department was pressured by an assistant coach to change a football player's grade.  He reported it to the DH who called Bo Schembechler: the assistant coach was out on his ass the same day.

Today's football program (and seemingly athletic department in general) is NOT the one I knew and admired. >:( :(

pbr and most people agree w/ you mr. ypsi...its kinda sad...the big10 has always had a strong academic achievement for its athletes and michigan has sold its soul to the devil, as a psu fan we kinda like to see michigan struggle but not this way...richrod is disgusting and got away w/ this cr@p at wvu but michigan should of known better....we all hope psu is taking notes on when joepa retires.

As a Penn State fan dlip is a bit worried about the "post" Jo-Pa period that is soon to come to State College.

No worries dlip - JoePa will die on those sidelines. He'll be here awhile longer.  :)

In all seriousness, I'd hate to be the coach who follows in his footsteps.

Doesn't his son simply inherit the 'throne'? :D

The infractions are all since 2008.... so at least they can't blame the loss to App State on that.  ;D

Good god, Grove, and here I thought you were such a nice guy. -K (first ever, and hopefully the last)

Grove is a chick.  Play nice.

As a Michigan fan, I am disappointed, but not surprised, at the state of affairs since Rodriguez came in. Even if he turns the program around, this just doesn't feel right, feels so, I don't know, Buckeyish. As much as I thought it had become a stale 8-4 type program, be careful what you wish for.

But for all of you Penn State fans serving up the haterade, let's get off of your high horse. You all cherish Joe Pa, but it wasn't but a few years ago where a lot of PSU fans were ready to push the man who basically IS Penn State out the door as too old. I hope my kids learn to have a little more respect for their elders.

Well they haven't really been that great since 1986.  And if you throw out a bad game by Miami, 1982.  That's worse than Ithaca!

How about Rocket Ismael's two TD returns?  That was pretty special.
