Penn State Athletic Director Tim Curley said Penn State would be willing to bring Pitt back onto the schedule, but only for a two-game series.

Pitt officials have balked at that, saying the rivalry should be played every season.

one tends to see this when they have turned town the home and home. Look psu wont do a home/home series they want the series every year. since the first 35+ plus games were played at sPitt would sPitt be willing to play the next 35 years straight at psu? didnt think so..... psu has a gigantic active fan base stationed all over the country. so they are trying to pick teams that their alumni can see w/o having to travel to state college. hence why alabama this on the schedule this year. psu would like to play sPitt but it simply isnt going to work out that way if sPitt wants to play every year. Now if sPitt had done the sports conference like psu proposed back in the day and not shot it down behind the scenes before psu joined the big 10 you would of gotten your wish

Got it...they should have bowed down to the almighty JoePa, said "Thank You Sir, May I Have Another", and all of this could have been prevented...

Bottom line...both sides should get their act together and make this happen...but odds are that they won't because the administrators are both acting like 15 year old girls...

its not going to happen period....for the simple reason stated above. psu's schedule is years out and they are playing all over the place so their alumni base can see games. on top of that they play 7-8 games at home since that pays for all their sports like swimming, fencing, volleyball, softball, etc...you see psu doesnt take tax payer money to subsidize their athletic dept. like a certain school does out west. so if they want the home/home game its always been on the table sPitt doesnt want it. so complain to their a.d. its very simple actually psu has made the offer and sPitt said no thx

Penn State/Michigan State is a boring rivalry.

Penn State/Iowa is much better.  There is some juice there too.

Jealous... not that it did much in Selinsgrove, but they did close schools here again today. Not Susquehanna, of course. We're hardy sorts.  :P
