I am way late to the stream so apologies to all you LLPP who like to remain in the moment.

Merlin Olsen was a giant of a man in all ways.  Smart, strong, dedicated, professional - both on and off the field.  Some might argue he was the poster child of why college athletics are important as they contribute and forge attributes that may be applied in other fields of endeavor - e.g., the screen, the broadcast booth.

Corey Haim, R.I.P., was what my dear departed father would call a "juice head."

Someone with lots of talent who just pisses it away.

If I am asked to choose which path seems better - I will follow Father Murphy's.

Amen to you Rev and KS!

So I guess it's another day of disappointment at casa de lip. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day against Tech or NCSU.

Kudos to Chip Kelly for suspending Oregon QB Masoli for the season. Takes a lot of balls with the team they have coming back, and what Masoli means to that offense, but it was the right thing to do.  About time coaches started holding kids accountable for their actions. Too rare these days.

Could a fellow Jet's fan (or anyone, for that matter) explain to me why the Jet's want LT? LT 5 years ago I get, LT now? Not so much. Unless we're looking for a 3rd and 1 back who can't get the 1...

Doid,
At least you're not a Browns fan.  Would you rather have Brady Quinn attempt to continue to grow at QB or have the old, inept Jake Delhomme inserted??

POLITICS ALERT
I hadn't really even heard of this Eric Massa stuff until I saw Saturday Night Live last night, but this quote is classic stuff:

"Now they are saying I groped a male staffer,'' he told Mr. Beck. "Yeah I did. Not only did I grope him. I tickled him until he couldn't breathe and then four guys jumped on top of me. It was my 50th birthday. It was kill the old guy. You can take anything out of context.''

Brady Quinn is no longer an option.  Traded to Denver today.  Quinn gone, Anderson gone, Seneca Wallace and Delhomme added.  I don't like any of those options.

I think Jake and/or other veteran QBs is the only option for teams like the Browns.  Unless you can get a sure #1 pick at QB, you can't waste any time on guys like Quinn, J. Russell, etc.

So that everyone's clear, that was Massa's OWN quote, not an SNL quote. Sometimes, the real thing is funnier (or sadder, as the case may be) than what you could make up. This dude is a clown.

I think Quinn could have matured into something......You already know what you have in Delhomme and that 'aint good.  Brady Quinn for Peyton Hillis and a 6th Rounder seems silly to me, but it is the Browns.

I'm afraid it may not get better until the second weekend either. Texas A&M or Purdue could give them problems, or Baylor or 'Nova later on, but I don't see any other real threats in their bracket.
