I think a little too much is made over the Meyer thing on both sides.  First off, Meyer didn't really hold a press conference about the whole thing, he went up to the reporter in a small group of reporters and kind of called him out.  He probably shouldn't have done it in public, but probably didn't think it was going to be a youtube video either.  The quote wasn't really taken out of context, but the way it was written made it seem that the WR was saying Tebow wasn't a real QB.  I don't think Meyer thought the reporter was trying to question Meyers QB coaching, it just seemed that the WR (Thompson) was upset and Meyer wanted to protect his player and possibly take some heat off him.

But Meyer shouldn't have called the reporter a bad person, and shouldn't have said he would have fought the reporter if Thompson was Meyers son either.  The reporter did not do anything wrong.

urban meyer is a complete jack azz...so wrong and off base. who knows the more pbr see's of him maybe he is unstable and shouldnt be around kids....would of loved to see the reporter and him go at it!

dlip is with Meyer here. The media loves to take quotes and blow them completely out of proportion. Clearly this kid was not putting down Tebow in anyway, he was just stating the obvious, that Tebow is a non-traditional QB and that his back-up is a more effective and true passer. Yet as always the media, that reporter and many others blow the **** up to make it look like the kid is dissing Tebow just to sell a ****ing story. dlip would have enjoyed it if Meyer knocked that reporter right the **** out!

No just don't see it that way. Obviously the entire quote was used but it was ****ing obvious what the kid meant and what he DID NOT mean. The kid was not dissing Tebow he was stating the obvious, Tebow non-traditional QB, other kid more traditional QB. He just used a poor choice of words to describe it. Of course everyone who is hammering Meyer for sticking up for the kid must have never mispoke in their lives so obviously the reporter was right?? Please dlip is not a Meyer fan but he is even less of a media fan. ****ing parasites who love to exploit people and kick anyone when they are down for $. Again Meyer should have knocked the guy the **** out.

dlip did you read the reporters whole article that he wrote for the orlando sentinel? fowler even talks about how thompson probably misspoke and didnt articulate his point clearly!! here is a link from mike bianchi who is a UF grad and usually defends UF and urban meyer to death and he thinks meyer is truly off his rocker and its time to leave.... read this article meyer is in deep in a pressure cooker and he is about to explode..

EDIT: 99 times out of 100 pbr would be with ya dlip. as pbr's faith in good reporting anymore is basically gone since everyone wants to be on sports center and first and no longer wants to get it right. but this time this reporter truly did nothing wrong imho. urban is just in over his head anymore at UF and the pressure is eating him alive....

Thanks pbr for the article. dlip probably should have read it before spouting off. dlip sees what you mean here and it makes the situation a bit more clear to him. dlip will concurr after reading the article that the reporter did present both sides (ex. the possibility of the player having mispoke) and that Meyer was acting in an inappropriate manner. dlip just gets annoyed at the pencilneck sports reporters that try to create something out of nothing at the expense of kids. Hey when these kids deserve it fine, but to often pencil neck reporters look to make a name off others by kicking them when they are down or making somethign out of nothing. Nice work pbr, thanks!

urban should be thankful he has had tebow and this controversy for the media to focus on....or they might have focused on the 27 players arrested since he has been head coach. at least 9 of the arrests have been for felonies. gives new meaning to urban warfare...

Tough night for the Big Red on the ice following the basketball teams loss yesterday. UNH skates their asses off and takes down the Big Red. dlip was really hoping for an ECAC team to make a little noise in the tourney. Unfortunately dlip feels Yale will suffer the same fate tomorrow. Well there is always next year for the ECAC.

KS has to get a fishing license this year.  Took the Stalkerette to the trout hatchery for their open house and youth fishing day and she loved it.  Caught two trout, kind of a set up, they let the kids fish in one of the breeder ponds but lets them see what it is like.
