not a fan of coach K but like him for taking a shot at the ncaa bcs football....

Apr 5 (Los Angeles Times) -- Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski took a shot at
college football on Sunday and may have provided testimony for any
future lawsuits against the Bowl Championship Series.
Krzyzewski said there was no way a team such as Butler could make it
to the championship game in football.
"It's a completely different animal," Krzyzewski said. "And they don't
have a system that would allow a smaller school to get into the
spotlight with the BCS. They know what the heck they're doing as far
as monopoly."
     Ouch.

I agree.  Of course it is easier for Coach K to get away with the comment since, while Duke (as an ACC member) is officially part of the monopoly, Duke football will NEVER have to worry one way or the other about the BCS. ;)

What KS likes is they can't go to a playoff in football because it will take the kids out of too many classes but they can discuss expanding the basketball tournament to 96 teams.  Assclowns.

Eh Rock/SF,

Went back to cinci/precinct again last weekend.  Are probably ehading back this saturday and need to find another quality place to fill the pie hole - any suggestions?  Also hearing about this riverboat casino.  How are the blackjack tables?  PM me if you see this before Saturday with any suggestions.

I had a bracket here in Ohio (nobody had Cuse going all the way, but lots of OSU, KU and UK and one Butler), but everyone's brackets were so fubar-ed that I would have won had WVU beat Duke - everyone else was out already.

Rev, I saw many Whaler and then Ranger games in Binghamton.  Lot's of fun growing up.  My favorite player was a guy named Al Tuer.  Dood was the real life cross between grizzly adams and Happy Gilmore.  Look him up.

Houghton, KS thought nobody knew where Houghton was.  KS nephew went to Houghton and ran track and x-country was then the assistant track and x-c coach until he got the job at Eastern Mennonite.  KS went to Houghton once, it was closed.

Allegany County has three collegiate institutions... Alfred University (founded 1836), Alfred State College (founded 1908 as School of Agriculture at Alfred University) and Houghton College (founded 1883).

Mrs. Pep is a full-time art major at Houghton College, pursuing a long-time dream. Houghton's Highlanders are known for solid soccer, but compete in NAIA, Pep believes. AU men's soccer team will play Houghton in its spring training game.

Pep Jr. was a member of a Houghton College High School Basketball Missions Team that went to Russia years back. Ironically, Pep Jr., the "world traveler" is this week in Germany, Denmark, Switzerland and Paris during his Spring Break from teaching in Charlotte, NC.

Houghton is a Christian college in the Wesleyan tradition. But when classes are not in session, there isn't much else there.

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!

JT

Massive brunch buffet with the in-laws, sushi, omelets, prime rib, big azz shrimp etc etc.  Followed by MJT bday party (actually its later this week) at home.  Single malts with pop-in-law.  Good times.  Hope all had the same.

This w/e MJT does a bday w/e away with the girls.  JT is already planning to get into trouble.

Houghton is NAIA Division II, good soccer and also good x-country (several Kenyans at the school on scholarship).  KS neice and nephew both loved it there.

DUDE -- I was across the street from the Precinct last Saturday night @ that Karoake Bar (Tostados).

You need to hit me up if you come back down this weekend... or something soon.  I don't think you're getting the Cincy experience.  Do you play golf at all?  I may play again this Saturday in NKY.. we could do that and then you could meet your peeps or whatev.  I got your number... I'll probably text you tomorrow to see whats up --- after I see the updated forecast.    If you don't mind, I may tag along/ meet you guys.  BUT I have heard the Hollywood Casino tables (blackjack) are tight ---- just FYI.  Don't know how a table could be tight (esp blackjack).  My buddy Jason (played FB for my TMC teams) really wants to hit the casino soon ---- so maybe we could meet you or something.   Then you could tell everyone on here what a douchebag I am or something... ha

Let me think about where you need to eat.... what kind of food are you looking for?

BTW... the offer above for golf (if you can find clubs and do actually play) and meeting up with you guys is good ---- that would be a good time.   SF's gf doesn't demand his time like most females do, so I'm fairly open this week.  In fact, SF just told her that she needs to find something to do this weekend anyhow.   At worst, she may show up (but not on the golf course) and bring some eye-candy tag-alongs with her.

Let me know... you got my number and I got yours.  I just realized how gay this looks and I coulda sent this via PM, but SF is too lazy to copy and paste it back over to a PM.

Sorry LLPP --- sending some +K for having to read it.

Its too bad SF's buddy's boat isn't ready for the River with the temps we've been having ---- that would be a very good time... if you're around during the summer, we'll put that together on a Saturday.  Lots of nice trim to look at on the Ohio River boating scene (consists of 20+ bars with docks)

one of my "friends" on the Heartland page took the time to find this little picture of SF from his playing days at Thomas More.  FYI, this DID hurt quite a bit... when I regained consciousness.  Diagnosed with Grade 3 concussion and didn't remember much from that day.  Its how I met formerd3db though, as he was Alma's doctor on the field in 1999.  Funny thing is that the right tackle who gave this up (stepped OUT instead of stepping in on a 3 step drop) blew out his knee 3 plays later and never played football again --- though neither did SF because of this hit and the history of concussions (just like Steve Young only I was right-handed and not very good).  Anyhow... I know PBR and LD will get a kick out of this, so phuck it.

This picture was on Alma's football program cover in 2000...

yeah dude... it sucked.  It was like a level 7 or 8, without the benefit of being drunk and hooking up with some girl the night before.  SF's girlfriend at the time had to keep SF awake all night (use your imagination) because they believed back then that you couldn't go to sleep.

I'm pretty sure my head hit the turf first  AND that turf was THE WORST I've ever seen.  It was so old it was like playing on carpet squares, literally.

Condolences to dlip. You gave it your best shot, but even reverse psychology didn't work. And honorary +k to whoever set that screen on Singler at midcourt on the last shot.

SF, will shoot you a message later, but steak is good, but any good food.  $56 is the reimbursement limit, but I don't care about going over bc I'm sick of TGIF, OCharleys, Lone Star and all the other crap around Dayton (there's only so many times I can go to J Alexanders before the moderately attractive female staff starts thinking I'm stalking them).

The fix is in.  Scheyer jumps in front of a guy (Howard around the 12 min mark) inside the circle and, what do ya know...Charge.  Singler is fouling the guy on the fall away for like 2 minutes on the fade away on the 2nd to last possession.  And how many times does that jerkoff stiff, Zoubek have to foul out before they actually call one?  I saw this guy against GT and he's a total stiff.  Should be on the FB team, but they didn't call jack shizz on him compared with what they should have.

First they give Dook the dookie bracket handing them a Willy Wonka ticket to the final four then they work the game so Coach K can look better than he really is.  If Nolan Smith doesn't improve greatly throughout the year they're a 3 or 4 seed and out in the 2nd round.  Playoffs or not, I've seen this team and a few other in person this year and Duke is not the best team in college BB this year.
