JU

Not to beat the gas can thing to death, but it's funny...I have had that can at least 5 years...

It has gotten to the point that I fill all my stuff up from a 1.5 gallon with spout, that I fill (using aforementioned funnel) from the 5 gallon...
Never even thought much about it until now...and now of course I will be looking everywhere to see if they sell the old kind....

Anyone try to buy a new gas can lately?  Pain in the ****ing ass these things are.  ****ing gas all over the place this morning trying to fill my lawnmower.

JU isn't the most handy person in the world, but I looked like a monkey trying to hump a coconut this morning trying to pour gas out of these ****ing things without spilling anything.  I guess its a new federal regulation or something.  ****ing things.

LMAO!! YES and pbr  was ****ing cussing all over the place!!! got 1 of those cans where you have to pull the sleeve back only its next to ****ing impossible to get a trickle of gas to come out. Its niagara falls or nothing!! Who engineered those stupid things (must have been a RPI dood) so trying to fill up my chain saw and weed wacker that hold maybe a pint of gas pbr must of ****ing spilled 3 gallons of gas all over the lawn since you cant throttle the stupid thing. wtf it is a 5 gallon can and easily 3 gallons went out all over the lawn....just lit the lawn on fire and walked away...

KS has one of those at Mom KS house, great for the lawn tractor, sucks for the push mower.

True.  These new cans suck.

I circumvented the whole thing by buying a LONG funnel...FU can designer!

Well thats the thing.  I am going to be forced to buy a funnel now.  Makes me wonder if the man who made this law has a stake in the funnel business.

In all seriousness, I read online that a US Senator or Rep from the midwest put this forward because of 2 kids who spilled gas from one of these containers near an open flame and got seriously injured or killed.  But I'm thinking if there are 5 people on LLPP alone who spilled gas like me, there have to be thousands of people in the US that have leaked gasoline all around their garages and gas equipment.  I dunno, seems real stupid if you ask me.

I'm much better with the visual of a monkey attempting to hump a coconut.

Has anyone figured out how to use the new containers to pour gas directly onto a camp fire when it needs a quick burst?

You have to put like 10 pounds of pressure on the lid in order to open the nozzle, which takes both hands.....so it is nearly impossible to splash on a fire in time to get out of the way.

Any help would be appreaciated

What about taking the spout off?  I too have one of those stupid containers...and the first time I used it, I nearly dumped 1/2 of the container all over the driveway.  For a few simple splashes...I would take that stupid nozzle off.

That's all I got...hope it helps.

KS recommends pouring gas into a bucket before throwing on a fire, the results are much more spectacular.

Good Lord Reg.  I wouldn't bring these things anywhere near a campfire.

Mayberry hasn't been any better.  MKaz commented last weekend that Senior Art Show Saturday was her Christmas, so I shouldn't have been surprised that it snowed all night and into the next day.
