Howdy gents.  TGP is back for a brief post -

1.  Raymond seems like a good hire for SLU but did TGP read he hasn't been coaching since 2007 given
he's been "working for the US Govt" - what up with that?

2.  PJ rules

3.  RIP DIO - Dio has rocked for a long, long time.  But now it's time to pass the torch....

Does anyone have Dish Network?  I am looking to switch off Time Warner cable.

Is there a limit to the amount of TV's you can have in your house?

I know with DirecTV you need a box for each tv.  The old splitter doesn't do the trick.  But the service is much better.  i would never go back to cable by choice.  If you are thinking DirecTV let me know and we can get $100 each for a referral.

I wouldn't ever go with Dish Network.  I signed on with them after they told me very specifically that I would receive all of the local channels to include FOX, NBC, ABC, and CBS.  The first guy came to install the boxes at the end of the day, and said he didn't have enough time to finish, and would be back early next week (not a problem at the time as I was just moving into the new house).  After about 3 weeks of no-shows and a dozen phone calls I finally got Dish Network to get another second guy back in.  Second guy came in at the end of the day again...and decided to hook the two receivers that had DVR capability into the living room (which was OK) and the 3rd bedroom (not the master bedroom).  Guy looked at me like I had a second head growing out of my neck when I told him to fix it or I wasn't paying him.  He leaves, we officially move in the next day and to my awesome surprise...no local channels and no FOX, NBC, ABC, or CBS.  After about 3 hours on the phone their legal department agreed with me (as they checked the phone conversation proving I asked specifically about the local channels and such) and "allowed" me to cancel my service without additional charges...but without refunding the $250+ for installation fees and first month of service charge.

Go with DirectTV if you had to...I will stick with cable as I don't watch that much TV, and have a 9 month old that is beginning to like cartoons.  Also...I believe you max out at 4 boxes per household without incurring additional charges...

Rev's Korea Commentary:

1. Ronnie James Dios: did not really like his music, but liked the dude.  Saw several interviews and respected his mind.  Rev's just not a heavy metal person, but understands the culture...thanks largely to said Mr. Dios.

2. Any mention of Pearl Jam will make TGP cream his jeans.  TGP had a band at Bart called "Big Whiskey" that may as well have been a Pearl Jam cover band, with our man TGP playing the bass.  The Rev can't stand Pearl Jam and wishes that Eddy Vedder had shot himself instead of Curt Cobain, but what the heck.  The Rev liked TGP so he went to Big Whiskey shows at the Scum Sucker (official name: Rum Runner) despite his disdain for all things Seattle.

3.  The Rev lit the lamp a couple days early because The Rev's new flame is a smoking hot little 23-year old Filipina.  The 15 year age gap is worthy of a bunch of mid-week brews.

Rev,

Pretty good, thanks for asking.  The Rev found a new gig up in Seoul teaching businessmen.  Right now just putting the new immigration paperwork through and waiting for current gig to end.  The Rev was thinking today that he wishes he really had been fired that day instead of being allowed to stick around until the end of the school year.  Just tired of putting up with the horseshiz.

By the way,  The Rev recommends www.****mydadsays.com

The Rev's favorite piece of advice: "Stop trying so hard. He doesn't like you. Jesus, don't kiss an ass if it's in the process of ****ting on you."

Had the Rev known this before, he would have acted very different last year.

Rev, that is the gap between KS and MKS, nice gap at your age.

Very funny.  TGP actually hasn't picked up a PJ album since Vitology.  I prefer the "classics" that BW covered - not well but we tried - back in the 92-95 vintage.

Glad to hear about the new gig and bird.  k+ to take you to 4-hundy.

U89 was surprised with the way this post turned out......U89 thought, 'creaming' ones jeans was a good thing.

Ronnie was a big time talent.

Vedder... just mumble into a mic and pretend you are edgy.  Nuff said.

Props on the Filipina.  Little bit Spanish, maybe a little Chinese, mostly native.  Can she make pancit or caldereta?  Two must haves.  Are you learning tagalog?

Pancit bihon is better than pancit palabok.  Palabok has the big spaghetti type noodles (with sliced egg). Bihon has the vermicelli type noodles which JT prefers.

Caldereta must be made with goat... using beef is just wrong.

Balut is a fertilized duck egg and a delicacy.  JT advises avoiding this.

BTW they make great wives. IMHO.  JT is 10 years older than MJT.  Congrats on the spread.
