eh...no biggie either way for moi...he actually was a pretty good senator and lawyer back in the day, his time had come and it was time for some fresh blood from either party. believe it or not probably hurts the republican ticket more by him losing....

Props on the Filipina.  Little bit Spanish, maybe a little Chinese, mostly native.  Can she make pancit or caldereta?  Two must haves.  Are you learning tagalog?

Pancit bihon is better than pancit palabok.  Palabok has the big spaghetti type noodles (with sliced egg). Bihon has the vermicelli type noodles which JT prefers.

Caldereta must be made with goat... using beef is just wrong.

Balut is a fertilized duck egg and a delicacy.  JT advises avoiding this.

BTW they make great wives. IMHO.  JT is 10 years older than MJT.  Congrats on the spread.

She is cooking for The Rev for the first time on Saturday.  Not sure what she plans to make, but The Rev is hoping he digs it.

Can't get goat for Caldereta, but The Rev will go to the local boshin-tang restaurant and see if dog is a good sub for goat.  Rev will avoid the poison egg.

Not sure what the mix is, but whatever her DNA is, the result is hot.  Rev thinks she may be mostly native because she is pretty dark.  From Laguna.  Nice.

Many have Spanish last names like Santos.  Some have Chinese sounding last names.  Some have Tagalog "native" last names.

Beef is a good sub for goat.  They just use beef in some Philippine restaurants here in the US because its easier to get.  Goat is just more authentic.  We just go to one of the Spanish neighborhoods to get it.

Shanghai is also good.  Their version of a spring roll, usually filled with beef or pork.

Chicken or pork adobo is good too. Dinuguan is a blood stew (not one of JT's favs)

Ube is a sweet purple yam and used in many desserts.  Flan is also popular.

MJT is dark too. A few hours in the sun and she's coppertone for months, even with 45 sun block.

BTW, was passed by a rather impatient minivan with a Hobart sticker on it last night. Headed down US 11/15 not far south of the 'grove. Any of you?  ;)

PBR...

some interesting looking lamps this week...its lit...

Lyco80

My two cents worth:

Mrs Lyco is 14.5 yrs younger than Lyco80 and it seems to work out just right for us as we are approaching 14 years of bliss with two recruits as part of the squad.

As to Arlen Specter - there is a different between public servants and politicians - and karma is a tough thing to run from.

Lastly, can anyone tell me what has gotten into the Rays?  They are playing as if they hope to break the W-L record of the Yankees in 1998 (114-48 plus 11 more post season wins making 125 in all.)

Congrats Rev on the job and gal - just remember, sometimes with the Filipinas you get not only her family but her village too.

In dlip's opinion the Rays are for ****ing real. They just left New York this week after homogenizing the Yanks.

The pitching, the defense, and team speed is top notch.  They are hitting OK too.  They'll come down to earth some, but the Rays are a serious contender.  Especially, if the Yanks play old later in the season.

This is exactly what The Rev is afraid of.  The Rev doesn't want to feed a village, just have his own little mochalatte clan.

This Arrest occured right in front of KS house on Friday night.  KS was watching the Yankees Mets game and heard "GET ON THE GROUND MOTHERF***ER".  KS then heard many sirens and dogs barking.  KS went outside and watched as one dirtbag got taken down trying to run by Froto the policedog.  Good job by the Jersey City Police.

Real smart gangbangers, trying to run away down a dead end street.  KS also saw the funniest thing ever at a police scene, 2 JC cops come tearing up in a Smartcar.  Dlipping Hilarious.

Kind of what it looked like, except the dirtbag was holding up his baggy pants with one hand while trying to run.  When the dog was done, his handler gave him a nice petting, a dog biscuit and big bowl of water.
