during my time at Thomas More we lived off campus.  And during my junior season/school year we lived in an apartment complex and shared a common door with 4 apartments.  Two of these apartments were filled with Indians (the kind with the dots on the ladies heads), and they reeked of curry... both the apartments and the people... it was SOOO bad.

I almost took away K for the memory, Frank... almost.

Yeah, I understand, but her face flat-out ruins the whole picture.  They should have had her face away from the camera.  Or cut her head off.

You wouldn't kick her out of bed, LD...

Dude, hot butt or not, i'd need about 35 beers to talk to her in the first place, at which point, anything goes.

Regarding the preseason poll;

-Leb Val receives 10 more votes than Alfred...interesting
-Will the MAC be the premier league in the East this year
-Union the LL favorite receives 12 votes? Slap in the face to the LL or not? Pumpkin heads getting 3 votes and  the Engineers no where to be found
-Montclair State comes in at #25 representing the NJAC
-Curry 6 votes one more than Ithaca's 5
-Fisher receives 21 votes one more than Frank W-less Rowan

Many questions and thoughts in dlip's head. He for one really enjoys pre-season poll because they give his D3 obsessed ass something to talk about before the season starts. It will be interesting to see how the season plays out and how these top 25 teams fare.

I'll be honest, dlip, Union was not in my Top 25 -- my thought is they are around 27 or 28 in my own poll (right around Ithaca).  Hobart is probably around 30/31 in my ballot.  Curry would be very, very deep (they have very few returners on offense this year -- I have trouble picking them to win the NEFC, let alone winning a playoff game this year).  The winner of the UNI/ITH game would definitely gain some momentum on my ballot, but we also have to remember that teams from other regions play some big games in the first couple weeks of play.  So no guarantees there.  Also, if Hobart can pull off the win vs. SJF on 9/25, that would impress me quite a bit unless SJF plays a crappy first three games before that.

As for SJF, I placed them higher than most on my ballot because I looked at their schedule last year and the crux of the team that comes back this year.  Remember that SJF was actually in the discussion for a potential Pool C bid last year because of the weighty schedule (that was before we learned that no team with more than one loss was going to get in, according to the Committee Chair).  I think they're the team to beat in the E6 this year -- and their schedule in the first 4 games (Brockport, Buff St., Rochester and Hobart) will help prove a lot from the outset.

dlip concurs Frank, for him Union would fall in the 30-35 range with Bart right in there as well. Ithaca will have to really make noise this year (that includes a victory over Union) to fall into consideration for a spot in the national picture this year. SJF dlip really agrees with you and a few days back he posted after looking at their results last year and who they have returning may sneak up on Del Val and have a shot at the East crown. One team who has been somewhat forgotten (and with cause) is Springfield. The Pride return a very athletic and matured QB and we all know what that mean in a system like the triple option; trouble. With a decent O-line and some talented players on O dlip has his eye on the Pride as his dark horse in 2010. He was high on them last year and felt for the most part they clawed their way back into respectability.

P.S. Curry will dominate the East this year...

Dude, you're the man, but.......week in......week out.....every year, you love Springfield.

HEY PRIDE.......

dlip knows, its a pathetic ****ing disease U89. He fights it but can never overcome it's grasp. First it was a man crush on Sharpe and who knows what will be next.

Regarding the preseason poll:

-Leb Val receives 10 more votes than Alfred...interesting

I know they don't have much of a history, but Leb Val has the chance to be really good this year.  They rely on an offensive line (which is very good and mostly returning), a quick running back and a defense that is much better than a year ago.  A 9-1 record with an at-large bid or winning the MAC outright is very realistic.

-Will the MAC be the premier league in the East this year

I think the MAC takes a step back this year.  Along with Leb Val, Del Val has a lot returning, though they do lose their quarterback, too.  In fact, almost every MAC team loses its quarterback - only Leb Val, King's and Widener bring their starter back.  I don't expect the MAC to do as well in non-conference play.

And, like Frank, I like St. John Fisher to win the E8.  I like the way the Cards finished 2009.  And I like that they don't have to start 2010 against you-know-who. :)

The Knicks just hired Isiah Thomas again.

The Knicks just hired Isiah Thomas again.

I had to type that twice so I believed it. The only logical conclusions are that:

* Jim Dolan is the devil (owning Cablevision probably should have warned me of that)
* Isiah has pictures of Jim Dolan blowing a goat.

I think it'd be better just to allow the pictures to surface than allow Isiah back in any capacity  :P

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that had to do a double-take at the Bottom Line on ESPN when that came across.  Granted, it was in between the 95 schools the NCAA is suddenly investigating just before the season begins.  It could've easily been missed...
