All Bow to Doc Halladay!!! GO PHILS!!! Dominating Performance!!! Still Can't Believe It!

Doc says and pitches a "No No" to the reds... Next up Oswalt...After that Hamels...bye bye reds...

Shut up  >:(

Ha Ha!!! Reds are a good young team, their time will come but right now its the phillies time!

Doc stuff was filthy last night! Guy is just a horse and intense

Weird how little I care about baseball this year.  I loathe the Yankees and Phillies so maybe that is why.  If they meet in the Series, I'll have to root for Philly though.  Let's go Twinkies and Giants?  I don't know.

was just incredible to watch...Doc was insane good last night. To pitch a No No and perfect game in the same season was just awesome to watch

I think you and 'Doc' should maybe get an apartment together.  Maybe move up to NH, raise some sheep.

never heard of the whole NH thingee...seems your quite well versed in it...not that there is anything wrong w/ that

Good stuff...in my head, all I hear is this...

PBR (Champ Kind):  Doc, we need you.  Hell, I need you.  I'm a mess without you.  I miss you so damn much!  I miss being with you.  I miss being near you.  I miss your laugh.  I miss your scent.  I miss your musk...When this all gets sorted out, I think you and me should get an apartment together!

LewDogg (Brian Fantana): Take it easy, PBR. Why don't you sit this next one out, stop talking for a while.

Anyone heard about this fire in Tennessee where the family didn't pay the $75 fee to the fire department for their services.

The fire dept wouldn't put the fire out since they failed to pay the annual fee.

Thoughts?

Why not just put out the fire then fine those mfer's double the cost for being lazy on paying the original fee?  Give them 90 days and if not paid arrest 'em or get a collection agency involved.

Amazed the FFers would just sit there and let a structure burn over $75....

Regulator

TGP,

So your thought is to charge them double of the actual cost to put out the fire or only double the annual fee?

Originally thought the latter but perhaps the former could work too (i.e., if you aren't going to pay the fee, then if you need help you get whacked with the actual cost if not more as "punishment" for trying to buck the system).  Bottom line is TGP generally agrees with Olbermann on this one - there was probably a better solution (either thru a couple bucks added to taxes, etc.) than how South Fulton's local gov't handled it.

It's kinda like working for free eh?  Something tells me if they 'forgot' to pay the $75, they might 'forget' to pay the new bill too.

TGP- I agree that there should have been a better way up front to handle it, however, it doesn't seem as though too many of the citizens were concerned with it (Like the guys son, who had his house catch on fire in December, where the fire dept put it out even though he opted not to pay the $75  bucks)

I hope the town either revamps the system to tax everyone or comes out with a annual election that has 3 options

1- I'll pay your stupid $75 fee for jerks (least risky)
2- I don't want to pay your stupid fee for jerks, but if my house catches on fire, I will pay you actual Time and Materials
3- I will not pay your stupid fee for jerks and I do not want you to respond for any reason, so don't even think about charging me.  (Although, as we have learned here, there is a moral code that most humans live by)

I liken this to a city who has garbage trucks that pick up all garbage in the city, vs. a city that has a pay garbage service.  Should the garbage men pick up the garbage for the non-paying customers just because they have the truck and there is garbage there?

I wonder if Allstate would have allowed Biff to up his liability only coverage to comprehensive after horse manure got dumped into it in Back to the Future?

Think about it.

I think we're agreeing?

The Cranicks said they also forgot to pay their fire service fee on time about three years ago. But the fire department then did not hesitate to put out a chimney fire and let them pay the fee the next day.

That's very telling. I feel very bad for these people, I truly do, they seem like decent enough people. But in the end, at one point you have to take responsibility for your actions, and unfortunately, it cost them their house.

As to the reimburse the actual costs of the fire, well, I agree with an earlier post, what are the odds of them getting that money?

Good analogy.
