Listening to the sour announcers on the Union webcast is making my head hurt.  What a bunch of cry babies.

Whhhhaaaa, the officials lost us the game!
Whhhaaaaaa, I have never seen anything like this!

Whaaaaaa, we don't know how to kick an on-side kick!

Whhhhaaa, RPI fans couldn't fill their stands.

By the way, congrats to RPI on regaining the Shoes.  See you in Schenectady next year.

Lol.  Why were you listening to us?  WRPI picked up the game later, no?

So we can establish now after this week that Frank is both:

1) a pompous ass
2) a crybaby

:P

I wanted to hear "Unions side of the story"

Very glad I tuned in.  Now I know how the loss will be justified.

Try "In the HuddLLe" for that.  However, there were two key calls.  The taunting in the first quarter (which, if true, was JP Sticco's fault and Union cost themselves a chance to maintain a scoreless first quarter), and the official's mis-call on the continuation penalty was a 10- to 14-point turnaround.  Both teams did not look good offensively tonight.  RPI got the calls and played better overall.  There's the game in a nutshell.

PBR...

Thoughts on the shoes game:

-congrats to RPI on their victory tonight. It must be a great feeling to win the shoes and that feeling is well deserved by the Engineers. RPI played hard and executed at key times on both sides of the football.

-dlip feels for Drew Connelly. This kid has had some really bad luck as of late and tonight his first quarter injury didn't help. dlip hopes Drew is O.K. and that he is able to keep his head up through all this. He is a class act and a very talented student athlete. His health both physical and mental is more important than football.

-Pat MCarthy #3 is nasty. This kid is a tremendous athlete and receiver. He is so quick and is able to achieve separation from his defender within a step or two. He is just so difficult to cover.

-Mike Hermann has just not developed like dlip though he would. His passing accuracy is inconsistent at best and if he could not scramble the way he can he would be riding pine. dlip still feels Hermann has the time and possibly the potential to improve but he wonders if this will happen

-Chris Coney played his heart out tonight and deserves a ton of credit of his effort. Chris clearly came to Troy focused tonight and it showed. Unfortunately for Chris the passing game was nonexistent with the injury to Connelly.

-dlip gives credit to #12 who came in as QB but it just isn't there yet. If Drew is unable to play next week or at anytime for the remainder of the year Connor Gallo must be put into the QB position to give Union the chance to win. This is no knock on #12, he just needs more time to grow and work through reps in practice. He was thrown into a fire today.

-dlip was very happy with Union's game plan today. They came out, even with Drew, and commited to the run. Setting up in the I or running that power offense is the way to go with a back like Coney. A friend of dlip's said it best: "Stop with all the out of shotgun **** , put in the fullback, tight end, and run the ****ing ball and pass off of play action." Union has struggled with an identity all season and this is the one to run with...literally.

-dlip has gained some respect for RPI as time has passed the last few years and even roots for them occasionally...occasionally (only in football). Yet tonight he really can upon some serious asshole fans that were just ****ing pathetic. These clowns were just that, clowns, who at one point were making comments to a father with his young son because the father had a Union scarf on. dlip does not in anyway feel this represents the majority of RPI fans but it was a large group adn they were ****ing assholes, so he wanted to point that out. Union has clearly made adjustments at Frank Bailey to deal with Union fans who act like this it is time that it happens at RPI.

-agains, good win and congrats to RPI on their victory, they deserved it.

It really sucks when something like that happens.  Some people just need to learn respect and that the world doesn't end with the results of a football game, and that good people root for all sorts of teams... It just irks me to no end that fans of opposing teams don't respect each other sometimes.

Congrats to RPI.

Good luck the rest of the way......

I've been saying it on a weekly basis for years......Union 15 yard unsportsmanlike and personal foul penalties are out of control and inexcusable.

Did I just read that some Union DUDE was wearing a scarf?  He deserved to be harasses. What a douche.

You're going to harass someone that has a kid with him?

Who's the douche again?
