KS took last tuesday off because the streets in his neighborhood were not cleared.  KS got an email from the controller at work that KS boss Durcheap told him to dock KS four day pay.  Three of the days were the days of and immediately after Mom KS funeral.  KS went into work the next day and flipped on Durcheap and company, Durcheap tried to blame the controller who is not smart enough to change his shorts without permission and would not do something like that on his own as he is too decent a person.  Anyway Durcheap decided to give KS his pay back and then he flipped out on KS and told KS that he should not be upset about the email.  KS snapped and told Durcheap everything KS had been holding back for three years.  Son of Durcheap told KS to go home for weekend and come back in Monday.  KS went in today and if looks could kill Durcheap would have killed KS when he saw him.  About lunch time Son of Durcheap AKA Fredo called KS in and told KS that he would be giving KS two months severance and letting him go on the 10th.  KS just has to go in and clean out his desk and tie up a couple of loose ends.  Ks says screw the loose ends.  KS told Fredo to give him the money up front.

KS feels like he just got out of purgatory.  MKS and KS have already discussed.  KS is planning on moving into mom KS house when school is done for the year and KS is probably going into business himself.  Finally going to try to open up a rehearsal studio, already found out there are almost none out where KS will be moving to.  KS is going to talk to some musicians he went to HS with and a couple of music store owners he knows and see if there is a market for one.  KS figures he needs to go for it now or he will be too old in a few more years to do it.

Sounds like foreigners, KS... they are the most unreasonable when it comes to life happening.  Good luck on your new endeavor..

So JU is in charge for hiring a new employee for JU's work.  As I sit here and look through about 100 resumes and cover letters I'm suprised the US unemployment rate isn't 20% with some of these things I am reading.

If you had a GPA under 2.3, would you really put that on your resume?  How about 1.97?  Am I missing something here?  Are there high schools or colleges in the US where a 1.97 is good?

The job I'm trying to fill doesn't even need a college or high school diploma, but I'm still amazed at some of these resumes.

I was embarrassed to put a 3.0 GPA on my resume back in the day.  My buddy used to be a recruiter and he would see things like 'Extracurricular Activities - Karate Blackbelt'  Very important for a Sales gig these days.

Kind of funny.  The job I'm trying to fill is a part time job that doesn't really require any education.  We are actually looking more for retirees or someone just looking for parttime work because of their other job schedule.  I've had some resumes from people with Ivy League law degrees or PHD engenieering degrees from top schools and good work experience.  Part of me feels bad that these people are out of a job but the other part of me knows that these people are unemployeed because they are a bunch of wierdos.

We sometimes use retirees for ish.  Try craigslist in the job seeker area by "retiree". Or post a job looking for a retiree.

I've posted gigs here too.

Hobart Lax and Football whacked by NCAA sanctions

Not a great start for 2011 for Hobart....

Very funny LD....k+

Many alums who have been calling for Hanna's resignation for years view this as the final straw...especially given how the athletics dept is portrayed in this:

Formal NCAA Report

Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

TGP....does this mean that the free wine and beer offer you made me if Jr. attends Hobart has been rescinded?   8-)

I think that offer was contingent on Hobart Lax making the playoffs in 2011...

Finally the KS family gets some good news.  Yesterday afternoon 1/11/11 KS niece gave birth to KS grandniece, Elia Grace.  The Grace is after KS mom and the baby was born exactly 1 month and 13 hours after Mom KS died.
Holding true to form, Elia looks like Winston Churchill.
