QuoteHalf the problem is a lot of RPI students don't know what football(futball?) actually is.

This is ****ing hilarious, +k

dlippiel

To speak on the aforementioned topic dlip thinks it wise, if there is any possibility of RPI changing divisions, that they remain exactly where they are. This program has risen ten fold over King's tenure and Lew is exactly correct, that stadium is amazing. It should, at the very least, garner any d3 football prospects eye.

As much as dlip hammers RPI (just a rivalry thing :)) they are great for d3 football and make the route 7 rivalry more enjoyable to dlip than any other rivalry, in any sport. Hopefully the administration and student body can do something to garner interest in football on campus and get that place buzzing on a consistent basis.

It says RPI stadium only seats 5,200?  Is that true?  It looks bigger but maybe the number is low because they have individual seats.

That's incorrect.  It only accommodates power outlets for 5,200 laptops.

Regulator

or 5,200 concurrent wireless interweb users.  I'd imagine that they could pack that stadium if they had some sort of virtual, in-person quake tourney.....or world of warcraft convention during a football game.

I don't see it filling any other way, unless RPI is playing union and Justin Bieber is MC'ing the event (union fans <3 the Bieb).  Any normal saturday afternoon will be standard attendance of 325 people.

The Rev doesn't think any school will be building any new stadia for a decade or so, unless they can pay cash. Looking at the USA from the outside, The Rev can't believe the ship is still upright.

The Rev expects several D3 schools to shut down the football programs, if not shut their doors entirely in the next decade. $50,000 a year for and education that requires 7% of a student's time to complete is a business model that will not survive much longer. College education for the masses was post-war bunk anyway. That how we end up with stupid majors like Wymyns Studies, or something truly worthless like Aviation Management (oh SH!T) that could be taught on the job in a much more effective way than in a classroom.

If The Rev ever comes back to the USA, I'm going to learn how to repair air conditioners or something worthwhile where I can earn a hundred bucks an hour from some cubicle dwelling 30-thousand-aire in Scottsdale who thinks she's too good to get her hands dirty.

Nice line, +K. Interesting take, I don't disagree. Although I'd prefer to own the AC repair company.

Didn't know about The Dirty dot com until SF mentioned it.  Raunchy.
"30 thousand-aire" is not an uncommon expression around the Phoenix area to describe the youngsters in Scottsdale who think they are hot stuff but really aren't.

But what do we expect from a town that exists because of a State School? trick a$$ whores, and Scottsdale delivers in spades.

This is an important announcement

The Rev is going to be a dad. Baby is due September 17.
Mrs Rev1 is beaming. Her whole family is psyched. The Rev's whole family is psyched. Just about everyone is psyched, except The Rev's bank account. Mercifully, a delivery in Korea only runs about $600, whereas it's about $15,000 these days in the USA.

Big question now is, "Do we really want to keep on living in Korea?" Part of the Rev's mind says hell no. But then The Rev thinks about his job prospects in the USA and the other half of Rev's mind says hell yes.

The sex is not determined yet, but The Rev has heard Lil' Rev's heart beat. Outstanding.

Currently the names Maria (named for the BVM herself) and John Henry Hobart are at the top of the list.

footnote:
1 - "Mrs Rev" is somewhat of a misnomer. We're only a page or two into the paperwork required by both embassies and our host country to be legally wed. Documents could be finished by the end of the month, or by the summer. Who knows? But at age 40, no one has given The Rev grief for putting the cart in front of the horse. The Rev held his horses long enough.
