update:

SF got an offer "in-town" to consider... a mgmt position at a local produce company's facility.  Still leaning towards the south.  SF is "playing ball" and the company in South FL (Delray Beach) has upped their offer once SF told them about the in-town deal.

Oh yeah.. and off to Boston for the weekend.. LewDogg is supposed to be downtown on Saturday so SF should be getting a lesson on how to imbibe RPI-style.

It may be country but definitely the theme song as you approach 50.

Very familiar with the Delray/Boca region (fam has had a place between them on the beach since the 80s).  Hit me up if you need any info regarding that zone.

Yeah that was the area I moved from (Lived in West Palm, Palm Beach Gardens area to the north).  Definitely nice if you want to avoid the hassles of winter.

Just saw a picture of the housekeeper who had Arnold's baby. I'm thinking hot chick in a french maids outfit, instead a see an overweight grandmother. Arnie, what in the hell was going through your mind?

The Rev wonders if Arnie was just looking for someone or something normal. HIs whole life is filled with fake people, fake things, fake every thing...maybe just once he wanted a real woman...even if she is buttugly.
With a name like Mildred, you had to know she looks like a grandmother.

The Rev went to the Busan Global Center to talk to an advisor about starting a business.
Rev brought Mrs. Rev, who was at first a little taken back by the fact that everyone working in this place is a relatively hot, 20-something chick. No problems. Once Mrs. Rev saw that The Rev was strictly business, I could see her hackles go down.

Anyway, The Rev want to open an English language bookstore using a machine called the Espresso Book Machine (www.ondemandbooks.com). The Rev went in there with a 3/4 finished business plan, a brochure from the company, and a spreadsheet with financials given to the Rev by the company. The chick was blown away. I was ashamed to have an unfinished plan, but she said I was the most prepared person who has ever asked about opening a business. I wasn't too floored because knowing the sick losers that I am surrounded by, I could envision very clearly some dude going in there with scribbles on a napkin saying that he needed money to open a bar that would be the coolest one on the beach.

The Rev went in there with a clear goal: learn how to navigate the obstacles a foreigner has to opening a business, and make a good enough impression that they want me to come back to talk deeper next time.

The Rev succeeded in that modest goal. The problem The Rev faces now is that he needs $100,000 just to get "foreign investor" status, but needs a total of about $200,000 to start the business. Yeah. Pretty hard on a visiting professor's salary, but The Rev has a couple good connections here in Korea and is hoping that one very good connection in the USA pulls through.

If The Rev can get the business off the ground, he will once again feel like he is truly a Hobart graduate, not a vo-tech drop out.

Good Luck Rev.  I would invest, but both my wife and I are teachers in FL and we are currently under attack by our Governor and so we have no extra funds at this time.

My post is going to be overly political, but since you bring it up, I saw a pin that read "Those who can, teach.  Those who cannot, pass laws about teaching."

No worries. the Rev wasn't trying to solicit investors anyway. Sometimes the Rev gets too excited about things and just as to tell someone whatever the news is in order to calm down.

This is really too bad. The Rev spent many Saturday mornings watching WWF and laughing his brains out.   WWF had a great cast of Bad Guys, and Macho Man Savage was one of the best.

Not much activity here on LLPP. Must be that everyone is still taken aback by the death of Randy Macho Man Savage.
