I can't! Looks like I can give two, so I owe you eight.

Darn!  Two will have to do  ;)  I still think it would be cool to have a "return someone to zero" option.  Oh goodness, I'm talking about karma.

Dang - I go have dinner and miss out on ten points! :P

Oh well, I'm used to my posts being ignored.  Tonite alone Frank ignores that his use of 'margin of erroor' is flawed, and Pat doesn't thank me for the extra 2-3 cents I earned him! 8-)

dlippiel

dlip saw a clip on the local news about RPI. Coach Landis has high expectations this first year. He feels he has a lot of talent to work with and that they should make some noise. Playoffs or bust is what dlip got out of it. Who knows maybe it was for the cameras. dlip wishes them luck, he does question Mike Hermann though. dlip feels he has maybe given Hermann too much credit in the past and that often, Hermann has not stepped up and earned it. In some ways dlip was hoping to see another QB get a shot and maybe have some success coming out of nowhere. Regardless dlip finds it funny that he even will discuss the Engineers in a positive manner and "wish them luck." Ah look little dlip is growing up. ;)

Don't work as a pollster, Bombers.

Yeah Bombers, if you worked with polls, you'd have to act with a modicum of professionalism and not be a homer and not pick fights on the message boards while trumpeting your position . Because pollsters can't do that, right?

Maxpower raises an excellent point, Frank.

The hypocrisy of these boards knows no bounds...

Is this because I wasn't interested in hearing gripes about Kickoff through two third parties from someone who hadn't even bought it?

O.K everyone let's all just relax and take a breath and get back to d3football. Everyone play nice the season starts next week  ;). dlip read an article in the gazette today and Hermann sounded quite confident. Offense is changing up and he is going to be asked to throw the ball alot more from the pocket and not scramble right off the get go. Again, dlip is curious to see if Mike H can rise to the occasion. Here are a couple tib-bits from the article.

"We will be running a pro-style offense, with me under center. We will be focusing on running the ball more, and that should help rest my legs. If we run the ball more, we should make fewer mistakes. He (Landis) wants longer possessions to control the ball. That should take the weight off my shoulders."

Landis said,"Mike has to be a part of our running game, but he can't be running it 20 times a game. He's a duel threat guy."

A decent article. dlip would post a link but the electronic gazette, but the ****ing thing costs $ and dlip does goes all paper old school mother****ers!

No but your comment above further proves my point, i.e., you also calling Frank as one who "[picks] fights on message boards" is tantamount to the pot calling the kettle black.

As for Kickoff, I have bought it in the past, but don't have interest in doing so after seeing prior issues.  My interests lie in a small subset of the D3 population and I can learn the same on my own time, and it's honestly more enjoyable that way.

Since you brought it up, my conversation with Keith was simply to let him know a few basic facts were off, that I had learned second hand, on one team (not surprisingly the one I care most about).  Keith's response was professional in that he took the time to ask for my input given this is one of the most active reader bases you have and he honestly cares about putting his name on and publishing out a good product.

I thought you are / used to be a copy editor (in your day job) and I didn't think confirming facts and/or offering constructive criticism to improve a product constituted griping but will defer to the forum.

Boy, I wish we got paid more than 58 cents per 1,000 page views with you two going at it. :)

Man, I thought you'd be at least $3-$4 minimum.  I do hope D3 sports turns into a fulltime income at some point. You've earned it. And I hope my internet activities do the same... I'd love to cover various D3 football games from the booth at some point in the future. I'm just so busy in this economy with business and family, that I think even rowanfootball.com goes dark.  I can't see how I can do it justice.  I may just forward it to the official college football site.

Well, that rate is the message board. Elsewhere we do better but forum click-through is never good, really.

I do agree that I responded but you're the one who injected yourself into the (ended) discussion.

I think when you take out one page out of a 300-page product you didn't even buy and use that to criticize it in the way you did, that constitutes griping. I'm sorry Kickoff doesn't meet your standards but I only see one error in the capsule (reporter misheard Wagner instead of Widener) and what you say is hearsay, well, the reporter talked to the coach.

Our writers are not volunteers, either. We pay them.

So, I'm sorry if this broad swipe at Kickoff gets me upset ... but, it does. I'm passionate about this. Have to be, because it's on top of my day job and I do this in lieu of spending time with my family.

We're all passionate about DIII football.  Just because you created the website doesn't mean you get to play God, talk down to and treat people like crap.

Everything I've seen and heard from you on and off these boards confirms the above.

Probably not a bad idea to spend more time with your family - especially your kids.  You already act like a child around here enough already.

Grow up.
