James, listen, I know you're going to have a chip on your shoulder every time I say anything but if you were offended by the very matter-of-fact two sentences that I made over the summer then I don't think anything I do anywhere will keep you happy.

This was not that big a deal and it didn't need to result in you quitting the board:

You just have a way of taking things you've seen in a fairly limited slice of Division III and assuming they work that way for everyone. I didn't want the new person to look at your post and assume you were right for everyone.

Really?

I thought it was fairly clear when I stated from the outset that I was guessing (which admits to having insufficient information by definition - if you don't believe me, you can look it up).  Also, I specifically left out PA schools  which was the original context of the question, so that the new person wouldn't think I was talking about Del Val or presumably, most other schools in DIII.

Although to some it may seem I have a way of assuming how things work, can you really blame me for citing personal experience on (what I thought was) just a comment thread on an internet board?  I admit the same (i.e., I am not a self proclaimed expert of national DIII football) up front every time.

In the end I don't think any of my assumptions are as bad as your just having a way of needing to be a jerk to long-time posters who support you and your website every now and again.

Dunleigh - the latter is something for you to look forward to as well over the next four years.  Good luck to your son.

I'm done.

I take a lot of crap from people. Now apparently you're going to be the newest thorn in my side. I get that. But I wasn't trying to chase you away before. I think I just made a pretty matter-of-fact statement.

"Everything" you've read isn't even close to a significant percentage of my 28,000 posts. I talk to the tone of the conversation -- if it's a free-wheeling group, I'll fit in. But there are probably 27,000 posts you haven't read, so I don't think you're in a position to judge me.

Let's just hope everyone on these boards and their families' are safe regarding the hurricane. dlip is thinking about all and hoping everyone is O.K. Once this ****er is out of here we can immediately return to our focus on d3football. dlip cannot believe the season begins next week. Where the **** has time gone? Anyway dlip is very very excited about the season.

Anyone have any info regarding Union's scrimmage against Castleton St yesterday???

dlip read an article in the gazette today and Hermann sounded quite confident. Offense is changing up and he is going to be asked to throw the ball alot more from the pocket and not scramble right off the get go. Again, dlip is curious to see if Mike H can rise to the occasion.
Landis said,"Mike has to be a part of our running game, but he can't be running it 20 times a game. He's a duel threat guy."

Wanna feel better about Union vs. RPI this year, Dlip?  That's almost identical to what we heard about Vella at Bart last year.  Just hope that a clearly inferior backup doesn't have to play due to a leg injury to Hermann because then you'll be really disadvantaged in your preparation for them and clearly lose.

In The HuddLLe

You don't get it.  You didn't chase me away.  Those two sentences were the final straw in 7+ years of reading this site, interacting directly or otherwise with you, that I just felt like I couldn't support something that's run by individual like yourself.

Your "matter of fact" comments weren't that - they misrepresented facts (i.e., I admitted to my lack of knowledge).  By stating what you did you were just being an asshole feeling self important about "clarifying" something that had already been stated.

Yeah I haven't read all 27K posts, but anyone with a brain can easily see that you never admit to mistakes or get defensive if someone calls you out.  For an editor you can't take criticism and the reason you continue to take crap from people is because you bring it on yourself.

I guess I am just the latest to call you on your own bull****.  I thought this could work but this time I am definitely out (not chased, just sick and tired of having to deal with a 6 yr old mentality).

Boy, I wish we got paid more than 58 cents per 1,000 page views with you two going at it. :)

Man, I thought you'd be at least $3-$4 minimum.  I do hope D3 sports turns into a fulltime income at some point. You've earned it. And I hope my internet activities do the same... I'd love to cover various D3 football games from the booth at some point in the future. I'm just so busy in this economy with business and family, that I think even rowanfootball.com goes dark.  I can't see how I can do it justice.  I may just forward it to the official college football site.

Well, that rate is the message board. Elsewhere we do better but forum click-through is never good, really.

I don't have any sports related income niches so I can't relate to the eCPM here.  I just thought it was a little higher.

At one point last night I really thought some windows would blow out.  I'm thankful that it didn't happen and that all the trees in and around my property stayed upright.

Everyone I know is OK.  The fire dept near our house has been very busy today. I'm guessing down power lines and trees.

An earthquake and a hurricane in one week.

Well it's certainly been interesting in here the past few days   :P.

I think the parties need to meet in a steel cage and settle this once and for all! Winner gets control of D3sports.com sites.  I'll be the referee.

Or you could come over to the E8 board and we can get an early start on the trash talk for Saterday....

Pretty Cheap Best Buy.

Since when does Best Buy sell water anyway?

Has anyone ever actually lost their ability to get tap water from a storm like this?
