Did Bart's freshman Tyre Coleman get any burn?  XRed had him on his HS team and he was a man child. Heard he played well in last week's Buff State scrimmage.
Taste It!

Ending to one of the most exciting fourth quarters of college football I've ever witnessed...

Crazy ending...was that you on the audio Frank? It was a good call. Nice job letting the crowd noise tell the story too. Most announcers try to scream over it

Thanks Bombers.  That was me -- we're working with Salve Regina Athletics to put it together with the video in a longer form.  That team deserves the memories they created today, so I hope they can put it all together.  One thing that got lost was the fact that the wind was swirling (not just a tail wind, but a diagonal-type, multi-directional wind from the shore).  That made the kick even more incredible from our point of view.  Hats off to Moore (a freshman) for the kick.

Wow...bad loss for Union to start the year...could be a long year for the Dutchman.

Just got back from the SLU-Utica game.  Utica offense looks pretty good...SLU power game was actually pretty good today as well.

It sounded like a great game, and I have no doubt it was...but I see an easy way to assess this loss...it is a bad, bad loss.  Coming off a 2-7 season and then losing to a middle of the pack NEFC team to start the year???  Not good my friend...not good...

"SLU power game was actually pretty good today as well."
It looked a lot better after #98 (Adams) was pulled.
He is a beast who drew double- and triple-teams every play he was on the was on the field.  When he came out,
SLU ran well up the gut and off tackle.  Washington is a tough back.
Can someone PM me with instructions on "quoting?"  Thanks, I can't seem to get it right, even after reading FAQ, etc.

He did and played very well.  Looks like Bart's put up a second straight very strong class with a lot of beef on both lines.  Here's Coleman's stats (and many critical tackles in 3rd and 4th and short, not garbage stats):

Tackles     Sacks     Pass Defense     Fumbles     Blkd
DEFENSIVE LEADERS     GP-GS     Solo     Ast     Total     TFL-Yds  No-Yds Int-Yds     BU     PD     Qbh     Rcv-Yds     FF     Kick     Saf
90     Tyre Coleman      1-0               4      2        6             1.0 - 5     .                .    .     .     .           .    1     .     .

Sorry for not providing advance notice, but we realize everyone is celebrating Labor Day weekend.

We really encourage you all to listen to this week's episode of "In the HuddLLe," as we had some incredible interviews with:

- RPI Head Coach Tim Landis, who spoke candidly about the future of the RPI program, detractors and supporters he's encountered already and scheduling in the future;

- Union Athletic Director Jim McLaughlin, who discussed how Union's out-of-conference schedule came together this year and the future of the Liberty League, including Springfield's entry in 2012; and

- Hobart quarterback Nick Strang, who has impressed many people in his two starts as quarterback.

All that and "Around the League" pack a great 90-minute show this week.  Go to http://inthehuddlle.com to listen to or to download the show!

I just listened to some of the archive.  Did Coach Landis not talk about the possible move to 1-AA or did you guys decide to just not approach the subject out of respect for the program/leage.  Or is this old news now?

Frank Rossi

Honestly, we went two rounds of questioning -- and his answers were so full that we ran out of time.  We plan on discussing that issue later in the season and will ask the new LL commissioner about the status and how he approaches that type of scenario later in the season.  We thought it was more important to see how Landis views his new job in D3 and his new team.  Trust me, though, it's on our radar.

Frank Rossi

Dear NCAA,

Instead of chasing $20 cover charges that may have been provided to players by Ponzi schemers, please spend your time on more fruitful subjects -- such as codifying a rule that states teams can only have one home and one away jersey style.  Please also require that there be some sort of symmetry in the color scheme.  Perhaps you could start with Maryland.  Thanks!
