Hobart (10-0) to host Washington & Lee (8-2) in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament.

Very interesting.  Not exactly a doormat in Rd 1 and a tough bracket overall.  Guessing the SOS may have dinged the Statesmen.  Second year in a row they've been placed in the "west".

Correction to the above, Hobart is in the STU bracket which is neither the North nor West but an interesting set up regardless given the Statesmen usually get projected in the UMU bracket in prior years.

Nope St. Thomas is in Hobarts bracket. Top down approach.

So that means Mount Union isn't a #1 seed then, according to this approach???

Of course they are, so the top down approach isn't correct...

Yup your right...just though about it.

Guys - The very top and very bottom of each half are the #1 seeds.  We'll confirm this with Brad Bankston on ITH (appx. 8:30pm ET live).

If there is good news, at least Hobart doesn't have to play UMHB or UMU until the final.  ;). I think the matchup with Heidelberg (If they get there, I won't assume anything) will be very difficult. It should be at Hobart though, if I read the bracket correctly.

Can we ask Brad how familiar he is with the NEFC and Bridgewater St?

I think Hobart can make a nice run to UST and give them a great game...

Good luck Pumpkinheads!!!

Pep is thinking, barring injuries, Hobart (10-0) should make it through the first two rounds (at home), against Washington & Lee (8-2) and then the winner of the "Battle of the Bergs" (Heidelberg vs. Wittenberg). Pep will go with the Student Princes taming the Tigers to advance to play the Statesmen. Then, Hobart would likely be traveling to St. Thomas.

Hobart that?

I think Hobart has a great chance of making it to the semi-finals. I believe people are underestimating this team. They have well balance offense and a good defense. The other three teams that they are slated to play within the 1st round and quarterfinals are good teams no doubt, but I believe Hobart really wants to prove something this year. Also, if they do make it to the semi's and play UST, I believe they are more of a complete team than SJF and can hang with them. My opinion of course.

ONE GAME AT A TIME STATESMEN. WASHINGTON AND LEE TRAVELS NORTH AND WE NEED TO BEWARE OF SOUTHERN SURPRISE STRATEGY BEFORE THINKING ABOUT STUDENT PRINCES AND THE LIKE. ONE GAME AT A TIME ;)

hobart is good, the first 2 teams not sure.  if they get to ust, they can win that game if they play well and are not overwhelmed by the speed they will see.  they were not when they played wesley so they have a chance.  ust is banged up with many starters out.  good luck in the playoffs.
