A nice write up and video on the Hobart Athletics website. Sorry for not knowing how to make a link without the URL gobbledeegook.

WPI leading Curry 21-14 in the 2nd.

I think Dem Spicy Boyz are not so "spicy" anymore...

True, the spicyness has disappeared but dlip will take a WPI OOC win over anyone. Congrats WPI!

Dlip is really pulling for SLU today! Also hoping RPI can take care of what dlip feels is a not so good Norwich team. Hopefully Insernia can get the Engineer's off to a good start at home today! Springfield SHOULD take care of WNEC but this is a BIG game for the Golden Bears, one they would love to win. Also best of luck to Hobart and MMA. Let's go LL!

Would be nice to see the LL go 6-0 but there are some tough outs today.  Grasis was a beast last night to the tune of 31 carries, 195 yards and 4 TDs.  Give that kid a game ball!

Looks like they went with the senior Antonopoulos the entire game. Grasis is a good player, dlip thought he was the ONLY bright spot for the Engineers last season when he saw them play Norwich. It's great to see Grasis have a good start to the season.

St. Larry awakens from hibernation!!! Welcome back.
Thanks!  Larries up 14-3 at the start of the 2nd quarter.  Scored on their first drive, and then got a pick 6 on Coast Guards first play from scrimmage.  You can watch streaming here:

RPI down 7-6 to Norwich at halftime.  Playing like doo doo.  Lots of penalties.  Lots of miscues, fumbles etc.  Listening to Bob Conway is absolutely painful.  Do some homework dude and read the damn program before the game so you aren't just reciting it and name dropping during the game trying to sound educated about.  And by the way, Springfield joined the league last year dummy.  Kurt sounds like he wants to strangle him at times.  I wish there was a Norwich feed I could listen to.

Hobart does Dickensin definitively. 4 am now in Korea. Time for bed.

Dlip knows WNEC is decent but can someone tell Springfield to wake the $#%& up!

Well, SLU managed to squeeeeeeak out a win against Coast Guard 21-17.  Some thoughts on the game:
-SLU probably didn't deserve to win this game.  They had over 150 yards in penalties against them, and had 3 FGs blocked, including one that was run back about 60 yards and lead to a CG touchdown.  In the end though, the managed to pull it out with a TD on 4th and 6 from about the 20 with a couple minutes left in the game.

-Lefflbine has a good arm.  You can see it when he drives the ball deep down the field.  Unfortunately, though, he has a habit of rushing his throws, especially on slip screens and tunnel screens, and ends up shorting the ball so the receiver has to really go down for it and stops the forward movement.  Lefflbine also needs to improve his decisions, especially when a receiver is double covered.

-Maurice Irby may only be 5'5" and 145lbs (generous), but he is a competitor at RB.  He's quick, as you'd expect, but he'll but his shoulder into someone and knock them back.  He was probably the best player for the Saints offensively.

-The defense really struggled with the read option, especially when the QB kept it in the second half.

-Not sure if the SLU secondary was solid, or if Coast Guard is just that bad throwing the ball, but the D looked pretty good in coverage.  Freshman OLB Jayson Leigh had 2 picks, including an athletic pick 6.

-SLU should not bother trying to kick a FG again this season.  Seriously.

-The refs were a joke.  Before anyone says anything, let me say I understand they are humans doing an unenviable job.  But this was just ridiculous.  The game was at least 20 minutes longer than it should have been because they kept having to huddle because they called the penalty on the wrong team, weren't sure which team called a timeout, if the clock should have run or stopped, etc.  There were some calls (or lack of calls) that annoyed me as well, but those are to be expected to some degree, although I'm still not sure why they couldn't seem to understand forward progress (for both teams).

All in all, it's a win, and the Saints needed one badly.  They have an extremely young team, so I expect them to correct a lot of the penalties and mistakes along the way as they players start to grow up during the season.

Congrats to SLU on the win.

Dlip hers you about the officiating. He has always found it to be quite poor on the D3 level. Dlip has just come to deal with.

Pride up 44-33 with 5 remaining in the 4th. Glad they woke up a bit.

Dlip takes it back. Pride 43-40 with 2 left.
