Great win for the Dutchmen today! 27-7 is the final and Union breathes new life into their 2013 season with this win! Look for a write up on today's game before tomorrow night on dlipthedutchman (Dlip just borrowed a computer). Congrats to The Union players and coaches today after a much improved performance on the field! Go Union!

St. Lawrence up 14-3 at the half.  Neither team has been able to do much offensively with much consistency.  The SLU D has 8 TFL to go with 2 sacks.

Seriously, impressive defensive performance by Union.  Makes me wonder what the preseason folks saw in SC, myself included, their defense has flamed out in 3 of 5 games.  Hobart vs. SC was tabbed as GOTY in Kickoff.  Not so much now.  MMA could be the 2nd best team in the LL, but we may not know.  Right now, if SLU hangs on they'll be tied for 1st w/ HOB for first place.

Saints hold on for the 14-10 win against Rochester.  Rochester made it interesting at the end, but couldn't pull out another miracle at the end.

Great start for season for SLU and Coach Raymond.  Still scratching my head on why this team didn't beat SUNY Mo?  But hey, 4-1, 2-0 is a great thing for the Saints.

I think Coach Toop can make a solid argument for coaching next week.
The house just passed (unanimously) a bill to authorize back pay to federal employees when this debacle is over. That means the shut down is essentially a forced paid vacation. I think the argument could be made that coaching, then, is not volunteering, but rather doing work for which he will be paid in the future.  You know, like 100% of jobs: work now with expectation of pay later.
