Now what have you been hearing about the pep band at Alfred this year?   

Pep is trying to convince Scotty Tuba to stick around and get his master's degree or doctorate. Would like to keep him another 3 years at least. Added a top notch trumpet, a former AU jayvee QB, to the band at the Salisbury game. He says he has a better future with his trumpet than with the football! Nice thing about Pep Band is one never runs out of eligibility!!

The struggling Union football team limps into today's game vs USMMA battered both physically and emotionally.  We know things have not gone well for the Dutchman this fall. Now they must face the Merchant Marine Academy in King's Point.  The Mariners will be playing their first home game since 9/28 having their season short circuited by the gov't shutdown. How will this game go?  Will the Dutchmen play it close to the vest and try to win a close one or will they let it fly.  I'd like to see mistake free effort that gets the "U" a much needed win.  Say 20-14.

WPI up 14-7 over UofR

SC up 21-14 over RPI

If UofR and SLU lose, Hobart clinches the Pool A bid and LL title.

Union wins 27-14. Any of little faith (LewDogg) let it be known that Union CAN win a game, especially when it's opponent makes more mistakes than they do.  Good win that sets the mind straight going into the "shoes" game next week.

Congrats to Hobart on their 3rd straight LL title.  They won it outright today with WPI upsetting UofR 31-21 in Worcester.

Springfield beat RPI 35-28 and you know the Union outcome.

Nice to see that the Statesmen dispatched the Larries definitively.
Looking at the stars, the game seems closer than the score indicates. Webb had only 90 yards, which for him isn't that great of an outing. Maybe I've become spoiled watching him tack up triple digits so often.
Great to see no fumbles.
Too many penalties.
Also great to see Coach Cragg spread the wealth of playing time to the younger guys. I love seeing names that I don't yet recognize posting decent numbers.

Next week the big game in Rochester. I still remember beating them 2-0 on a Rich Memeger (?) safety. It was the first time we beat them in ages, and a sign to me that we were now rising from rock bottom.
