Does anyone else purposefully ignore the icon on the NESCAC board, then get bored and figure 'F, it, let's see what these guys are talking about, it's gotta be interesting.'  And then you click it, and you are so mad that you did because there is nothing worth even scrolling through and it's just more boring drivel about the same crap over and over and over?

Anyone?  Yeah?   Well.....I just did that again.  UGH!!!

+k for describing one of my monthly rituals.  I hate myself for it every single time.  To the point where I look in the mirror for lengthy periods and openly question my existence.

The newest new LOW...Eck benched to start the game, QB Blake Geller throws two picks, one a pick six and it's WPI 23- Union 0 at halftime.  Something I once loved so much is gone. It feels like a death in the family  :'(

St. Lawrence up 10-3 over RPI at the half.  St. Lawrence took the lead thanks to an RPI fumble on a kickoff return, and scored on the short field.  Other than that a couple of decent drives by both teams, but the defenses have had a pick a piece to end threatening drives.

The RPI video feed is absolutely fantastic.

17-3 St. Lawrence now in thee 3rd.  TD pass to Leondre Simmon, who has 4 receiving TDs on the season to go along with 3 interceptions.  Not often you see a two way guy with that kind of production.

I just look at the score, and it was like a punch to the gut. Ugh.

RPI is just imploding now. QB got hurt early. Just had their 4th turnover. Getting ugly.

Final: St. Lawrence beats RPI 24-10.  St. Lawrence missed a couple of short field goals in the 4th quarter, and RPI scored with just over a minute left to make it seem a little closer than it was.  RPI back up QB just didn't ever get any passing attack going until a couple of long throws on their final drive.  St. Lawrence held RPI to 3-16 passing with a couple of interceptions.

Congratulations to St. Lawrence on a well earned win , this sets up a great game in Canton with Hobart. However, not sure we can count RPI out yet, loss of QB was a factor today.

Congrats to WPi and massive regrets to Union fans. How do you bench Eck? This loss is heavily on coaching staff. I still think Union has a lot more potential than the 0-5 record shows. Hockey season starts soon.

Hobart dominated Springfield today. Hobart staff took Springfield very seriously and never let them back in except for one good SC drive in the second quarter. Coach Cragg let first strings play entire game to prepare them for endurance needed to play entire game in important end of season contests .Conlan continues to improve, and Committtee running attack is well balanced. This is a true TEAM this year and plays with  a lot of intensity. Still not as good as 2012 team yet, but very solid and improving at the right time.

U know Bill Dlip would say you're being overly dramatic...but you are not. This is the first game Dlip did not attend (family reunion) and selfishly Dlip is glad he missed this one. He doesn't know if he could have handled it in person. It is probably one of the lowest points, if not the lowest point, in the Dutchman's storied football history. All Dlip knows is that he still will be supporting this team next weekend no matter what. Look for Dlip's write up of today's game, the upcoming WNEC game, and Dlip's thoughts on where the Union Football Program is sitting right now.

...by the way, WNEC throws the **** out of the football...

Dlip, traditionally I have been indifferent towards Union, but your unwavering support has made me really pull for them.  I hope they can quickly turn around their program.  Fans like you deserve it.

Article in the Schenectady Gazette about how football and hockey have switched places at Union. It also addressing a bit of the coaching situation that many have been talking about.

Interesting article. Seems like they never really tried to answer the big question of why exactly football has struggled so much, though, which kind of makes it un-interesting.

One thing I've noticed is that Audino's staff has been in the sport for a long time. These are the grad dates/approximate ages for his staff:

2014 (~ 22)
2012 (~ 24)
1995 (~ 40)
1983 (~ 52)
1979 (~ 56)
1976 (~ 59)
1971 (~ 64)
1969 (~ 66)
1964 (~ 71)

I'm not ageist, and I think there's some value in having experience around on a staff. Still, I can't help but wonder if maybe something to this. It just seems like, going by ballpark ages, there aren't a lot of guys who might be nearing the end of their careers, and two guys who haven't really started theirs. I also wonder how the age of a staff affects recruiting.

What Dlip found interesting about this article was that it was the first, at least that Dlip has seen, where the coaching has been brought up outside of these boards in a publicized manner. Dlip loves Audino's response, one of class and pride, and expects nothing less from the coach a who Dlip thinks the world of. As someone who has been around both programs (hockey and football) since 82-83 (where his first memories began)  he can't believe how they have completely changed places. It has been a very tough couple of seasons for those of us whose hearts sit so close to the football team.

Dlip, I know Union's game against Springfield was on TW3 a couple weeks ago, do you know if any of the other games this season will be on tv?
