Agree with pat. Consider that the SEC defensive player of the year is not on a team, and has tyre ever played pass coverage?

ITH radio

Coleman dominated Wesley's OL today and had a career game in his final one as a Statesmen. Probably the greatest player in Hobart history, especially from a statistical perspective.

However Hobart's best shot at a possible pro player is Ali Marpet. He has the physical gifts at 6'4" 310 and was invited to the shrine which is no joke. Having seen and met with him in person he looks like a NFL player but at that level there are a lot of guys that size or bigger so it's a long shot just like any player from any a Division trying to make it in the league.

He was also invited to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on January 24th.

Since this "liberty league" page will soon die until next fall... What's the odds we see Tyre Coleman playing on Sundays next year? Would love to hear big brother Pat Coleman's opinion.

My opinion on what it takes to make the league is not a very informed opinion, just for the record. I am sure he will get a chance somewhere, though, and even if he isn't on an active roster next year, I think he'll have more than one opportunity to get a roster spot. But at 6-1, 258, I don't think he'll be playing DE in the league. He'll have to show he can play linebacker.

My $.02, which is based entirely on previous years' experience watching D-III players try to transition to the NFL.

He looks bigger than 6'1 258 on my little Ipad watching the live streams.  I'd say his best chance is to bulk up and play DT/DE in a 3-4 or DE in a 4-3.  He doesn't look that fast, and he doesn't really pursue backside like a NFL linebacker should (or could).  He will not be able to cover anyone in the NFL, so he will not be playing linebacker.  The Patriots get away with playing Rob Ninkovich at their DE (6'2 260, who also can't really cover anyone but is probably better than Coleman), so I guess you never know.

Nice name drop with Ninkovich.. But I agree. He's got a huge frame he could put muscle on for sure. Put him in an nfl lifting program for a year or so.. Ya never know.

Meant to mention this last week, the Hobart play-by-play guy is pretty good, but the color guy needs a few cups of coffee and some happy pills. He is one grumpy sounding dude.

Yea those guys are both good, I love how they talk I between the breaks too like the mic was turned off or something.

The Hobart home video takes a direct, live feed from our mixer in the booth. There's nothing we can do about being "hot" during the commercial breaks. We know that we can be heard and try not to say anything that will get us in trouble. If we can come up with a better system, we will.

Someone needs to force silence on the woman Wesley fan who thinks she's Mariah Carey.

Indeed. It's a pretty small, intimate stadium, so our crowd mic was about a foot away from her. I think she was cheering in C sharp.

Congrats to Hobart on an awesome season. I think the game went as I predicted with Wesley pulling away late and not blowing them away like some thought. I was really impress with the coaching game plan of Hobart. I think Hobart Defense really played well. It was a shame to see Tyre Coleman get injured, he was a game changer and dominated Wesley O-Line. Wesley won the game solely due to its depth and athleticism overall. Not saying Wesley is not the best team, but it made me upset that people clearly counted them off, Hobart has proved many (including myself) wrong all season. Hobart beat a good Johns Hopkins team and the Empire 8 team Champ, Ithaca. Again, Congrats to Hobart.

Half of Callahan's passing yards and TDs came after Coleman exited. It was an all time great performance by probably the best FB pkayer in Hobart's 121 season history.

Or, you know, Ithaca.

Coleman was awesome. One of those rare physical talents where I kept saying to myself (or on air), "Did you just see that?  Did you see what he did?"

I agree -- Coleman's performance was very impressive.  I particularly liked his backflip on the screen that he tipped.  Guy is a monster.
