Well, that was quite a week. Went 1-3 on picks ,  .(predicted Hobart beating Springfield by 10-oops) Springfield rolls in the second half with 35 points( think the last time this happened to Hobart was against Syracuse in 1950 ...actually not sure when /if it ever happened) I predicted that Hobart would miss Stanley, and they did, but not sure he could have stopped the Pride today. It will be quite some time before Hobart is ranked again. Reality sucks. The Pride did look very strong on offense, and is legit...beware to all left on their schedule

The Larries go up 24-0 and then hang on for a 24-21 win..woah(I predicted a late drive comeback by Avery..a bit short..wrong again)

Union loses a close one to WPI...(wrong again as I thought Union would edge one out)

Rochester beats a fiesty Mariner crew that outgains the Yellowjackets ...(finally got one right)

This  should be a close race to the last weekend as no contest seems assured...but the conference winner will probably get to play Mount Union...so let's enjoy the rest of the season before the sacrifice is made :o

Hey the E8 isn't looking so hot right now, either. Maybe OUR winner will get MUC

Not a bad point. If SLU can finish 9-1 and Morriseville can pull out a 500 season, that may look a little better than a potential 7-3 E8 conference champ. I don't know, for both leagues sake, lets hope the matchup is East or with each other.

Maybe, but Ithaca has a good shot at a decent NCAA game if they win out, although the Buff State game will be tough and Cortland "leprechan luck" will need to be overcome. If St. Lawrence can win out convincingly and E8 keeps pounding each other, the NCAA will probably give the Larries a more favorable opponent...but lots of football to play before that and I have proven to be a very poor prognosticator.  Don't know what to say about Hobart as defense against run is now an issue without Stanley as evidenced against SC and the offense has painfully low 2.7 per rush average this year(a 4-2 record looks good with those numbers)...much to turn around in a bye week in prep for RPI.

If SLU gets the LL title and AQ (at 9-1 or even 8-2) I see them hosting Husson out of the ECFC.

As has been mentioned before by other posters, Husson is in Bangor Maine and Canton is the only decent hosting option within 500 miles, besides other New England teams.

But that is the kicker. I don't see Framingham or WNE losing a game the rest of the season, barring disaster. And again, the NCAA has to be very cost-effective at the division 3 level. JUST DON'T MAKE IT MOUNT UNION!

With 2 losses you really need the perfect storm to host. 8-2 Hampden-Sydney got that storm two years ago hosting 8-2 Maryville since the Tigers were the only team within 500 miles of Maryville. However I'm thinking there will be enough schools within 500 miles of Husson, should they win out, that a 2 loss Liberty League champ with a likely 0-0 RRO record isn't going to host anyone with a perfect record. Travel to Husson? Maybe. Host? Doubtful.

Not going to comment on the specifics of what this 8-2 LL champ would look like in terms of resume, but I will just say that I don't think there will be too many other schools within 500 miles of Husson.  I remember looking at this last year and being shocked how remote Husson was; even most of the NJAC and Empire 8 are outside range (Wesley 610 miles; Rowan 547 miles; Cortland State 553 miles to name a few).

Western New England (NEFC leader) and Framingham State (MASCAC leader) are both within 500 miles of Husson, though.  Framingham did not qualify for the playoffs last year but with the MASCAC getting their Pool A bid this year, that adds another school in range of Husson.  I suppose they can pair Husson with one of those guys (whichever one hosts) and then pair the other with Wesley / Johns Hopkins / E8 champ / LL champ depending on brackets and seedings.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

That's my point. A LL champ won't be the only option. I have to believe an undefeated team with a really limited RRO resume hosts an 8-2 team with a really limited RRO resume, if that's the only option.

The play (D3 Play of the Week nominee) by Reilly was just incredible to see in person! Congrats to the freshman who had an incredible day on the field.

Liberty League Conference ranked at number #15 at the mid-year point by d3.com. IDHO we are down and the ranking is quite warranted.

down year :'(

With that said 2 of the top 5 conferences are from the East (E8 and NJAC)...thanks Wesley  ;)

Congrats to a gritty Merchant Marine in beating Springfield yesterday 22-21. A well deserved win with a strong drive and stop in the final minutes. No gimme games in LL this year.

Aggressive coaching by Rochester backfires on 2 unsuccessful fourth down attempts in Yellowjacket territory, as RPI notches an important win. Next week's contest in Geneva is critical for both teams.

Can the Larries run the table or will this be the season of more upsets and parity?
