Posted over on the NESCAC page, but sad to see Mark Raymond leave SLU for Williams. He had no true intentions of leaving, but apparently they "gave him an offer he couldn't refuse."

A price that SLU just couldn't match.

Looks like 3 new head coaches the year for the liberty league

Looks like Hobart and Brockport will be facing off week one. I like it..2 close Upstate teams who have not faced off for real in recent history. They scrimmaged each other for a few years in the mid late 90s.
Hobart finally rids itself of the academically comparable..but not quite football comparable Dickinson Red Devils.
Brockport upgrades it's non conf schedule significantly..dropping the Yeomen of Oberlin for the "Barts. I may be in the minority who enjoys these Upstate matchups..state school..private ..no matter..just something new. The question is whether Hobart (or Brockport for that matter..) were dragged kicking and screaming to the deal. Hopefully not.
The game is at Brockport...will feature returning E8 Offensive Player of the Year RB Dan Andrews and crew vs Hobart's usually very tough defense. Easy travel for both teams. Hobart's only SUNY matchup of the year. I for one.am looking forward to it..

He was someone that really kept things in line up there, really interested (worried) going forward for the saints. They will still return a great front seven this year on defense and the QB richardson is a heck of a player. I still see Sweeney being the clear cut #1 qb in the LL, but this guy has the size/skill set to be right there with him. He showed his potential against Mount Union when Leffelbine went down. Just needs to tweak mechanics a bit.

I love this news! Always nice to have teams meeting that haven't met often. Love the E8 vs LL dynamic as well.

dlip agrees D3viewer! This is a great matchup for both teams and the state of NY. As more time goes on dlip really appreciates Upstate New York D3 Football. He is forever awaiting the NY super conference with two large divisions, private and public. This wouldn't work with the current playoff alignment but it sure would be great to see!

Raymond's a big loss for us, there's no doubt.  However, our coordinators do most of the recruiting.  Puckhaber snagged most of our best players of the last few years.  Talent wise I don't foresee a big drop off.

Bartman

Any word on whether SLU will promote an assistant or look on the outside? Raymond will be missed in the league as he raised the profile and quality of the  SLU football and the LL.

His right-hand-man Puckhaber will step in and is official listed as "acting head coach" on the website.

Per rule, they must go through a hiring process even if it comes from within.

Audino back with Bagnoli in NYC as he's officially accepted the TE coach role at Columbia.

Glad to see Coach Audino gets support from his friend Bagnoli .Good luck at Columbia, they are happy to have him(http://culions.blogspot.com).
Even though he is a Tight Ends coach, I am sure he will give broad input to Bagnoli. Keep track of the Lions they might actually Roar again.

Great blog find Bartman! dlip is ecstatic for Audino and has no doubt that his presence at Columbia will only benefit the program in every way.

Dlip, I have a couple of old Lion friends that feel the program is turning around as recruiting(a number of transfers, too) is robust. They have total support from the administration, especially with some real pros on the staff now( the previous regime was pretty much a joke)...Audino should feel good about his new home....

With the Dolphins the last two seasons, Martin served as an offensive assistant.

This is absolutely gigantic to dlip! These hires are exemplary and dlip feels both will bring a tremendous amount of knowledge and leadership to the table for the Dutchmen!
