Very concerned about the game tomorrow. MMA is a fullback/QB kind of triple option team. Does not use the pitch as much. Plays right into Hobart D weakness. Middle LB's must come up and support run at line of scrimmage. Too many tackles last week initiated 6-7 yards down the field. Weather looking bad. Not going to help the passing game for Hobart. With the change of seasons, Hobart is going to have to rely less on their explosive passing game and get a consistent ground game going. I have nightmares of Springfield last year

I have nightmares of Springfield last year :o   Game may be ugly , given the weather. Is Jemison back? Need him for the run. They tried to get the run game going last week, but they default to the pass under pressure this season. +k for caring about the Statesmen...but  keep positive 8-)

When they have Harper and Jemison on each side their run defense is much improved and they need them against MM. The big issue this year is getting the OL to open up some holes on a consistent basis. There have been flashes for a  few plays where they pick up some first downs but nothing sustained to eat some clock up. It will be interesting to see if they can get some serious rush yards tomorrow, if not, it will be a long day.

His daughter is a Senior this year...so James is now a homer for the Bart ;D...thought he was an LSU guy. It looks like Trump stole James' main reasons to vote for Slick Willy back in 1992:

1.Change vs. more of the same.
     2.The economy, stupid
3.Don't forget health care.(now repeal Obama care)
Seems like political campaigns just get recycled every 25 years

Glad to see he is behind the Statesman....I feel so much better now ::)

Nice comfortable 42-14 win for SLU over Springfield.  Ferraro being out still has an obvious effect on the offense but still rushed for 170 yards as a team.  Richardson had a turnover but ran the ball well and threw for 4 TDs.  This team is playing some Beamer ball.  2 defensive TDs on the day.  Held Springfield to 107 rushing yards on 48 carries.  This front 7 is menacing.

Hobart had a very nice clutch win against MM.  Sweeney is a special talent for sure.  Although I would be a bit concerned as a Hobart fan with the complete non-existent run game.  No matter how good my QB is I'd never be comfortable with him throwing the ball 50+ times.

SLU looks like the most balanced team in the LL , if not the East. I think if the Saints and Statesmen can win out the rest of the way(not a given) .... Sweeney will have his hands full with the Saints defense in Can(ton)adia in November, but it is also possible he will make SLU crazy...Right now Hobart needs more time to work on the run game on both sides of the ball before that game.I will say that MMA is a solid football team and will challenge anyone...they are way better than the team that fought hard against the Saints last year

Pretty obvious that SLU should be ranked ahead of Hobart. It seem likes it's previous performance that is keeping Hobart higher in the rankings. SLU is the best team in the LL but Hobart could beat them with explosive plays from Sweeney to Shed against a short SLU secondary. Let's see how they next few games play out for each.

Agree....but winning in Cantadia will change that ;D

I'm scared about that.

SLU, Hobart 21-22 in the new polls.

Congrats to SLU on the ranking, they deserve it......hopefully both teams will stay clean until the collision in Canton

This weeks predictions(Home in CAPS):

RPI      35(51)       Rochester  14(13) ( Not a problem for the Engineers ) Feel sorry for the Yellowjackets
WPI     24(21)       Union        21(14)  (A close battle could go either way) well fought
SLU     28(42)       Springfield 10(14) (Saints win with confidence as defense stiffens)Larries Roll
Hobart  28(38)       Mariners    24(35) ( Rain helps the Mariners scare the hell out of the Statesmen as turnovers cause issues for both teams)No rain but the "scare the hell part"...that happened :o
The Larries are the premier team as reinforced by drubbing of Springfield and will continue to offer the reserves a chance to play in the second half against Rochahca. Hobart will have it's hands full against a hungry RPI team in Troy....Cragg and DC for Hobart need to figure out how best to use the talent they have on defense to stop RPI from moving as easily as MMA did...if not, heavy pressure on Sweeney again to make every possession count...... an RPI win could set up a possible 3 way tie for league championship IF Hobart wins in Canton, so this game will be hard fought( tie breaker experts could be needed...but not until November, as lots of football still to be played  )......would not be surprised by a MMA win over WPI or a Union win over Springfield
