Bartman congrats on the big win today! The Pumpkinheads reign supreme in the LL.

As far as dlip's beloved Dutchmen go today was a very special day indeed. Union came to ****ing play and it showed against a good MMA squad. Senior QB Blake Gellar got the start and rewarded coach Behrman with an excellent game. Today Blake made the throws he needed to while the O-line controlled the LOS all ****ing day. Kinzelmann went bat**** crazy with over 200 on the ground while Carn was also very effective with over a 100 yards.

The Garnet D did not give up one big play and held the fiesta Mariners in check. The Dutch played 4full quarters of FB and gave us loyal fans one of the most enjoyable games in quite sometime.

This program will eventually be back. Dlip thinks today illustrated that.

What a great ****ing day of Union Football!!!!
Dlip....congrats to the Dutchmen on handling a tough MMA squad.....they are trending for a Shozapalooza win next week......Statesmen need to stay focused and beat the upset minded Yellow Jackets....hoping for the Statesmen and Larries(outside chance) both making the playoffs and Dutchmen winning the Shoes....go LL

Very disappointing performance from my alma mater. Team worked too hard all year to play like that against Hobart. Bad penalties and big plays was the name of the game.

Not to take away anything from Hobart. Sweeney and Shed are special players. They should be undefeated, loss to RPI was clearly a fluke. With as good as QB play they have they're poised to win a game or two in the tournament, barring a matchup against Mount Union in the first round.

I hope not, but distance and all that... With the East shaken up today, many things are up in the air. St. Lawrence, should they get a Pool C, could be the one (They are just barely within the distance right?). Alfred losing to Fisher next week would shake things up even more, as if it wasn't confusing enough. Not sure how the final rankings will shake out!

Not to mention the drama between Frostburg, Wesley and Salisbury in the NJAC, and Stevenson tripping up this week.

No drama left in NJAC, Wesley beats Willy P they win league.  Frostburg can make a case with a win  Salisbury wins and no one else gets in.

Bartman and Dlip:

Congratulations to the Hobart Statesmen....Sweeney took it to the Shed a few times, eh? Now screw it up and let those Yellowjackets sting you like in 2010.

Congratulations to the Union Dutchmen...who made significant strides this season and who will certainly put up a fight for those shoes!

On Saxon Warriors!

Thanks Pep....we need the reverse psychology working.....we can't let those Yellow Jackets even think about stinging at the BOZ....hope you and your car are OK after hitting the deer because we need you to cheer on the Saxons this Saturday... beat the Cardinals down so the Statesmen move up a spot in the rankings( IF we beat the Yellow Jackets) plus I like the whole Mayberry thing and hope you can win a few in the Playoffs  ;D

OK, Hobart at #22 and SLU at #25 in the rankings....interesting to see how the NCAA RR shakes out this week.

For Hobart, likely very well.  For SLU, likely a nightmare scenario.  Check the podcast (late in the show, during "East Region Review") for my estimate on what we'll see Wednesday.

Nice show this week and interesting forecast for East RR.......so Frank, I am thinking that Fisher is the #2 this week, but if you are right and Hobart is #2 AND Alfred falls to Fisher , do you think that Hobart could grab the #1 spot in the secret end of year ranking?

I didn't listen to the podcast so the specific reasoning eludes me.  But if Frank has Hobart leaping Fisher because of their win over a RR opponent, while Fisher beat a nobody...that's fine and i'd understand.  But by that same logic then if Fisher were to win on Saturday they will have defeated the previous #1 team in the region while Hobart plays a 1-7 team.  I'd think Fisher would be the new #1 if they beat Alfred, followed by Hobart.

Even if they do grab the number 1 seed in the regional rankings you're looking at a #3 seed with a small possibility of a number 2 seed...

Hell even if AU goes 10-0 they're only a 2 seed...

We rank teams based on who they have played, not who they will play.  Here is how the two teams currently line up in my assessment -- and it's subject to change after this Saturday's games:

2) Hobart 8-1 .605 1-0 RRO
3) Fisher 8-1 .563 1-0 RRO

Fisher plays 9-0 Alfred, and Hobart plays 6-3 WPI.  That means the gap will narrow between the two, with the potential for Fisher to exceed Hobart.  That said, SJF adds another RRO, meaning they have enhanced their position in other criteria as long as Olivet remains ranked.

[EDIT: As pointed out above, that should've read that Hobart plays Rochester (1-7), which obviously hurts Hobart's SOS.]

Frank, I think you meant Hobart is playing Rochester(WPI plays SLU), so if Fisher beats Alfred, I would think the SOS swings to Fisher's favor and if they have an extra RRO win they certainly will move up.....so with that, I think I still root for Alfred because 1. Hobart really doesn't have a chance to move up and 2. I just like the Saxons better ;D

Yes, thanks for that.  So many team scenarios, so little time before selections.

Frank Rossi

Here's the entirety of my list.  Note that 7-8-9 are pretty much interchangeable, but the winner of Frostburg/Salisbury likely finishes ahead of SLU.  That means the loser of Fisher/Alfred and the winner of Frostburg/Salisbury are ahead of SLU for Pool C consideration.

1) Alfred 9-0 .552 0-0 RRO
2) Hobart 8-1 .605 1-0 RRO
3) Fisher 8-1 .563 1-0 RRO
4) Stevenson 8-1 .501 1-0 RRO
5) Wesley 7-2 .584 2-0 RRO
6) WNE 9-0 .500 0-0 RRO
7) Frostburg 8-1 .504 0-1 RRO
8) Salisbury 7-2 .533 1-1 RRO
9) SLU 8-1 .500 0-1 RRO
10) Albright 7-2 .517 0-2 RRO

MISSING THE BOARD (In No Order):

Husson 8-1 .440 0-1 RRO
DVC 7-2 .495 1-2 RRO (lost to Albright, lower SOS than WES & ALB)
Bridgewater St. 7-2 .503 0-0 RRO
Salve Regina 7-1 .511 0-1 RRO
