Checked the 2018 Hobart roster and Jedh Downey, AJ MacFarlane and Ty Barfield are not on the roster, I know AJ was hurt the end of  last year, but anyone know Ty and Jedh status? These would all be pretty big losses to the team .

I understand that Jedh transferred to another college, not playing football

I just heard he transferred to Fordham where one of his old HS teammates plays Football.  Tough to replace your #1 tackler from 2017 and #2 in 2016 and would have been a Jr next year.  Surprised he stopped playing since I think he is good enough to make the Fordham squad, even if it is FCS, unless there were medical considerations.

If there is one position that there was a lot of depth in the Freshman class, it is linebacker.  Jedh will be a huge loss, but I think there will be plenty of talent that will get a look this spring and summer.  The team is hard at work in the weight room, very impressive videos on Instagram, under HWS_performance

Check out Coach Drach's recent staff hires at Wilkes..four new additions from the ranks of some of the best ever to play for the Statesmen.... Kelvin Cruz, Jack Pfohl, Tom Elder and Shane Sweeney...good luck to Drach and his staff....except if/when we ever play Wilkes

Maybe DeWall can hire some back. Coaches recruiting war !

Happy to see Kelvin, Tom and others land new jobs down in PA. Drach is putting together a solid staff that should improve the Colonels program.

Hobart got a couple of solid players out of Huntington HS, one who was an all-county lineman which they definitely need on the defensive side of the ball. Given the MacFarlane news, the Statesmen will have a number of new starters on the DL this fall. Hudgins and Smith filled in well after AJ went down, but other than Moore, there's not a lot of DL depth. Crobok got some run, but Hobart will have some work to do to improve upon last season's 5th place finish in total D (to be fair they were the 2nd best rush D tho).

RPI hired from within to replace last year's OC/OL Steve Hladio who left I guess. (And then hired AIC's OL coach as well).  Someone refresh me as to what happened to him ?

Hobart vs Union October 6th

Looks like a nine game schedule for Union.  9 for RPI, 10 for IC, SL and ROC, still waiting on final schedule Hobart

ITH radio

Yeah, Hobart probably would go with a 9 game one also if not for Homecoming. I have to imagine Vincent is pushing Miller to find and get something teed up.

There aren't many teams left with an open date on 9/29.  I hope they find somebody, otherwise we will be watching soccer or Herons Field Hockey after the tailgate........

Both teams should have two open dates, although I understand the homecoming angle.

Unless Union finds an opponent for a 10th game, at home, this will be the second consecutive season that they play only four home games. They have open weeks 9/29 and 10/27 but I can find no prospective opponents for those dates. They did play a fifth home game last year, the NYS Bowl vs Cortland, but consecutive years of only four regular season home games? Come on man!😠

I guess that when Buff St joins the LL next year, it will make it easier on the AD's to schedule 10 games.
