Wow...just WOW  ;D...it seems you boys need another distraction...like FOOTBALL...Scrimmage week...who's scrimmaging whom? I know the Union Dutchman are scrimmaging at Utica on Friday 4:00 pm. That should be a good indicator for both teams.

LET'S GO U !!!

Buff St at Hobart tomorrow at 6!!!

Nice...the battle of the U's. (not shoes)

SLU made the trip down to Castleton, VT today for what sounded like a joint practice type thing. No word on how things went.

IC's roster is online. 61 Freshman listed, compared to 35 last year, and 45 the year before.

11 LBs
10 WRs, OLs, DBs
6 RBs
5 DLs
4 TEs
3 Ks
1 LS
1 ATH

Very interesting that no QBs are listed. I'm sure it's hard to sell a kid on sitting for three years though.

State breakdown
NY: 25
PA: 12
NJ: 11
Calif, Mass, CT, Fla: 2
NC, NH, VT, DC, England: 1

I seem to remember a bigger New England emphasis under Mike, but maybe I'm wrong.

Hobart v. Buff State scrimmage reports had the Statesmen up 21-7 in second half, and more importantly than the score, defense and passing game were performing well. Sounds like some good progress is being made in pre-season camp.  Preparation and hard work every day before the opener with Brockport by both coaches and players is a recipe for an opening game upset on 9/1. Can't wait.  Go Bart

I was at the game last night with a good crew of Hobart faithful including former head coach, Jack Daniels!!  The offense's passing looked (surprisingly) very good. Jr QB Hoffman was very accurate both in long and short passing game.  Fr QB Krewson also got some late playing time and showed some serious arm strength, 65 yd pass directly into (and then out of) the hands of the receiver.  Running game was also strong with So Milliken starting the game (So Harvey was nursing a minor ankle sprain) and 2 Freshman RB's stepping up and showing both speed and power.  The highlight however was the defense, other than on poor pass coverage play, Hobart held Buff St to minimal yardage in the half. Of course, this was a scrimmage, so neither O Line or D line had a consistent group, with the coaches substituting lots of players.  Walked away feeling pretty good.  On to Brockport next weekend!!

Great news Bartman. A solid Hobart squad is a great thing for the LL and hopefully the Pumpkin heads will reign terror throughout the LL this season with only one mishap coming on 10/6 lol.

I heard Ithaca was up 27-7 on Misericordia at the half of their scrimmage

Oline,
Great to hear your eyewitness account and +k for the reporting. Buff State has always been a great scrimmage test the last few years. Hoping the progress continues

Dlip, we will see how they do when it counts. It will be interesting to be the heavy underdog against Brockport, looking forward to the challenge.

Over on the E8 board   sjfcards posted...
"Looks like Fisher is scrimmaging U of R tomorrow at 1pm, @ U of R."
That would be now... sure would be nice if we had a Rochester fan/ former player posting on this board. Come on Yellow Jackets. ::)

That is good news indeed.

Hoping to attend at least one Union game this season but right now looks iffy; having this service available should lessen the sting of not seeing things live. (I am somewhat fortunate living in Dover, DE that I can usually make some of Wesley's games. Wesley  has a tough opener next Friday against Delaware Valley).

dlip is still on the Cape but word is Union got ****ing manhandled today scrimmaging Utica. Hopefully the Dutchmen can get back to practice this week and keep working to improve. dlip will certainly be at practice this week checking them out. It's about getting better each day, wherever you're at. Hoping for the best!

No worries Dlip, enjoy the Cape, the Dutchmen are probably just evaluating  the lower rungs of the depth chart and playing Opossum to the rest of the LL
