OK, last weeks picks were 3-3 and 20-4 on the year(no more LL homer pickin for Bartman) and LL is 15-9 OOC.

Week 4 pick:

SLU        17        Thomas More      24

LL goes to 15-10 on the year OOC.

Get ready for the season that counts on 10/6.........The LL will find out the Pumpkinheads have been playing opossum until now , as the real Statesmen reveal themselves and taste revenge against the Dutchmen

From your mouth to gods ears Bartman.  I'll still have Hobart gear on in two weeks talking to myself about how much Union sucks balls.  Every year is a year to avenge the cheap shottimg, head stomping dudes stuck on the ground dudes on the 1998 Dutch team (anyone remember Rich barlette, watch the post game video from 1998).

The 97 game wasn't pretty earlier. A lot of whoofing to the stands from the players at the end of the game.

Didn't realize EVERYONE has a bye this week except the Larries. I'd agree with your assessment, Bartman, but I don't think it'll be that close. I'll go with:

Thomas More - 42
SLU - 13

That said, i'll be down the Cape for an annual gong show of a golf tournament, so even if I lose, i'll likely drink way too much so we'll call it a wash and get back at it again next week.

A coveted honor for the RPI OL Chris Neu, Thomas Olausen, Bobby Boos, Rick Denboske and Aaron Castillo as they were named to this week's D3 football Team of the Week. As an old lineman I'm always thankful when "the hogs" get recognition. This throws down the gauntlet for other Liberty League units to achieve the same. This is the fourth straight week that the Liberty League has been honored. The RPI OL joins... Union's Jack Reilly(wk.1) and Andre Ross Jr.(wk.2)...Rochester's Robert Grant and Ithaca's Pat Minogue(wk.3). The onus is on the Larries this week to keep this streak going. :P It's great to have the LL in the D3 spotlight.

Wait I'm old that was 97.  In schenectadeck.  Close game, we lost and then we got jumped in the endzone.

The 97 game was in Geneva, 28-17 loss. Hobart and Union came into the game 2-0 and Statesmen were up 17-0 until a safety and late TD pass before halftime cut the lead to 17-8.

Union came out in the second half and never looked back. Kenney was picked 3x.

Pumpkinhead...I'm not sure what you're rambling about. The '98 game was a 19-14 Hobart win in Schenectady. I AM sure that I WAS at that game and since my Dutchmen lost it was entirely forgettable...and who the hell is Rich Barlette? Provide a link to this footage. I'll gladly give it an look see.
I suspect you're stuck in the '90s because you're trying not to focus on the shortcomings of this year's Statesmen

So you don't remember a brawl in the end zone after the game?  I assure you our DT at the time does.  Barlette was a soph, lives up in the Albany area now doing something involving energy and lobbying the state I believe, but last time I saw him was up at the 2005 game.  I didn't play much in that game but I played afterwards.  If you were on the team you would remember a fight.  Let me put it like this, it was prominently discussed in the hungover sunday film session.  We were trying to climb to respectability in the early Cragg years barely above .500 which was an accomplishment at the time over the 1960s-1980s and were treated as the red headed step child as we started to beat Union, RPI and IC, somewhat regularly throughout the 2000s.

If you look at the last I don't know how many posts I've been very clear about how I feel about this year's team so that supposition doesn't hold up for five seconds.  If you don't remember a brawl afterwards it must be because you left early.  If I was going to be stuck anywhere it'd be most of the last fifteen years where we were more or less the class of the league, certainly over the entirety of that time frame.  From around 2008-2009 on it's been mostly Union fans pining for the early 1990s except for Frank nut hugging Audino five years past his expiration date, one of your guys used to crush Frank on a daily basis long before you were on these boards about it (plus some personal stuff that I didn't find very tasteful, but that's a whole other side to the 2000s LLPP).

But then I'd be talking trash like you are with the last sentence, but I know a fight occurred when I've been in it.

BTW, Kevin Dewall only played FB in 1999.  He was a great lacrosse player and athlete but had chronic foot problems, he wasn't on the 96-98 teams.  Yoder played from 97-2000 however.  Those two were close friends with Barlette so ask our new HC to check in with Rich about that since you don't believe me.

I don't recall that game, but not sure I went to the '97 game. Frankly though, it sounds about right - that was the Tommy McKeown era, and a lot of those guys were punks.  What did Barlette do, exactly?

I do remember the 1999 game in Geneva, against an underrated Hobart squad, that featured the cheapest shot I've ever seen live when a Hobart kid speared a Union punt returner in the face on a fair catch while the ball was still 20 yards in the air. Good times.  TBH that was probably the spark it took to get the U in the game and win.

I'm still not sure what game you're referring to...'97 in Schenectady? You refer to post game video...still waiting for the link. Obviously you hold a grudge and have a wound that can't be healed on this board. I have attended 100+ Union home games and am unaware that ANY ended in an end zone brawl.

I think you meant "orange headed step child".

You Union guys are so aenaitice.  Can't believe slip even gave up a decade old profile of slip got blown up bc he doesn't recognize lewdogg despite the mass/wilmingrom NC references.   Maybe I was right tostay away after years of posting.

Who gives **** about 97-98,it's like recalling the technical year of a super bowl va season t his point .  Calling for video is childish Bush league stuff.  Any player from either squad back thenknows there was a brawl after the game in schenectadck in the far end zone.

No matter, like laxpower, old blog sites are dying and pat will lot be able to keep
This thing running much longer so I'm out.  Enjoy thin skinned Internet ramblings.

Huh??? aenaitice? This must be a Machiavellian (lewdogg) move to deceive and confuse us loyal Dutchmen. Pumpkinattack you're the one that brought up 1997 and suggested we "watch the post game video" of some long forgotten alleged brawl. I think your pumpkin may have rotted while still on the vine. I'm just looking for some educated banter about this year's game. Bartman, where are you to add some clarity here?  :o
