Huh??? aenaitice? This must be a Machiavellian (lewdogg) move to deceive and confuse us loyal Dutchmen. Pumpkinattack you're the one that brought up 1997 and suggested we "watch the post game video" of some long forgotten alleged brawl. I think your pumpkin may have rotted while still on the vine. I'm just looking for some educated banter about this year's game. Bartman, where are you to add some clarity here?  :o
Got up early today before a golf round and checked out the board. Bartman is always unhappy when ex jocks get so heated that they leave the board for awhile. I have done this myself when Frank took a cheap (IMO)shot at Hobart during a half time radio spot during the Sunday New York Times incident four years ago. The history of the Union - Hobart rivalry is long and complicated. For years Hobart was the looked down upon second class rival of Union( RPI was always the classic primary rival). Bartman hated Union , yes that's hated because Union was always dirty in our mind. My first play from scrimmage was the old handful of dirt in the eyes trick from a Union Dlineman ( not possible with artificial turf now)with Biff like laughter from the Dutchman following the incident. The Union coaches also high fived the player when he came off the sidelines. I have no tape of this and it happened when Hobart was not competitive. This never happened in my HS days when sportsmanship was encouraged. This is a small incident of many that contribute to the lore that the other side is dirty and often used for motivation . Some of the incidents , on both sides, may have resulted in serious injuries and I am sure the stories many years later have taken on an embellished life of their own.
Bartman is here to say that it is better to rise above the dark side and look to the beauty of hard fought competition where you shake the hand of the winner and respect the loser. I have known some great guys at Union ( as much as I hate to admit it) and proud of the Statesmen who have played with honor. There will always be ***holes in games and on boards, whether temporary or chronic, but Bartman loves the game when it is played the right way and appreciates these exchanges from fans with a common interest in football competition played by students without the commercialism found in D1 and pros. So , I try to avoid discussions from the dark side now and focus on the game and some great( although imperfectly human at times) kids that keep good old fashioned football teamwork and competition alive and shake hands at the end of the game. With that said , on 10/6 GOBART and **** Union.
UFan and others, thank you for your indulgence, and I will resume my normal game analysis and banter on this LL season in my next post.

Let's all go easy here. Let's learn from Dutch Boy's oversensitive previous snowflakedness/taking **** personal on here and all take a breath. Love the ****ing Bart guys on here, all of them, and respect the pumpkinheads a ton. We can get this board back to fun, banter, and ball busting (that's for you Mach) while having fun. Someday we can meet and laugh about **** as Union kicks the **** out of both Hobart and RPI.

Stay on pa and let's have some fun and talk D3 football. Mach said this last year or some ****, that the rivalries need a little ball busting and fire. He's right, however being an RPI alum the credibility of anything he says is always in question.

Great post Bartman +k, now please refer back to dlip's pumpkin picture.

You Union guys are so aenaitice.  Can't believe slip even gave up a decade old profile of slip got blown up bc he doesn't recognize lewdogg despite the mass/wilmingrom NC references.   Maybe I was right tostay away after years of posting.

Who gives **** about 97-98,it's like recalling the technical year of a super bowl va season t his point .  Calling for video is childish Bush league stuff.  Any player from either squad back thenknows there was a brawl after the game in schenectadck in the far end zone.

No matter, like laxpower, old blog sites are dying and pat will lot be able to keep
This thing running much longer so I'm out.  Enjoy thin skinned Internet ramblings.

Pumkinattack, I hope you are not serious about leaving the boards.  I may be a relatively new Hobart/LL fan, but I am certainly not new to football and cheap shots.  I played Oline in the late 80's in the Ivies, and we certainly had our fair share of BS on field crap (to this day, when I run in to old teammates a hearty F*** Penn is the usual greeting).  That being said, I love hearing about the rivalry history and old grudges, but I am really here to discuss the present team, coaches, games.  I enjoy the comraderie after both wins and losses, as well as the game analysis provided by longtime Hobart fans/former players.  Let's face it, I am not showing up at work on Monday morning and finding a group of guys to discuss Hobart's use of the 3-2 vs 4-3 defense.

PA's post was his 1000th post. Maybe that's all he needed. Maybe he was even feeling slightly aenaitice. Who is LewDogg?

I went ahead and tried to end this all by googling 'Hobart Union Postgame Brawl'.  I didn't find it yet. But Captain Internet shall continue his adventures through the interwebs to bring peace throughout.

While I didn't find the video yet, my google search yielded a very welcome documentary suggestion:

Documentary: Hobart woman may have fed dismembered lover to neighbors at barbecue, killed up to nine people.

There is no video of said brawl I was on the camera that day and shut it off before Mr. Wimberly was accosted by some mean old pumpkin men.

Nope, just typical O Line dude, bad back and knees, but still have all my marbles.  Gotta worry about opinions of old LB's and FB's, a few too many head bonks back in the day

I want to hear more about this 1997 (or 1998) Union/Hobart brawl.  Stop being such a P@#$!#@Y pumpkinattack and get back here.  You are actually one of the top posters in terms of football analysis and breaking down the X's and O's of these football games.

Maybe d3football.com can start their own "30 for 30" type show and this can be the first one?  Interviews with this Barlette guy in his Colonie work office laughing about that game.  Maybe Coach Shepnick (sp?) can make an appearance in the episode and break it down.  Hell, if the budget is there, maybe d3football films can take a trip to S. Korea to talk to the Rev?

Then for episode 2, Frank Rossi can come back and break out is red dry erase marker and breakdown the 2004 Hobart/Union game where the refs screwed Union on the goaline.

We could fill season 1 fast for this thing.  Let's get on it.

Can this be done as a time piece with the LLPP posters of new and old 'narrating' from behind their computer screen...Gro begins typing his recollection of a specific moment in time and the scene cuts to Spring Break 2K in Cancun with Michael B. Jordan as Gro, Zac Efron as Mach and McLovin as Regulator being swarmed by a gaggle of the hottest of hot HS girls from a small town in Kansas as they swoon at the speed of Mach's funneling of the cheapest Mexican beer during a private party at Senor Frogs....

We could certainly turn this into a Netflix series.

Yes!  So many great stories.

RPI great "Redtackle" reflects apon the 1990 Shoes game where Union's Rex Wickam grabbed his privates after Unions first TD (trophies missing from background)

Doing anything Saturday?  Let's go to the Tufts/Bates game.  Then you can go over to the NESCAC board and drop knowledge like Galileo dropped the orange.
